What is going on with the FP+ crackdown?

That seemed to be the case with me! Thankfully I was able to get the Pandora FP's at 60 days out cause I was going there in the begining of my 8 day trip. Sucks :(
I didn't realize they limit APs FPs to 7 days. I thought it was length of stay. Interesting.

That's how it used to be :( It was 7 days in a 30 day period, unless you had a resort reservation. Then you'd have as many FP days as your resort reservation. 7 days is plenty for many AP's, but I live 3 hrs away and this time of year I visit once a month. In June, twice, actually. Always on property. I'm not much of a complainer, but if I'm spending the money to stay on property, I should be allowed as many FP days as I want :/ Not my fault people are cheaters.

You said net 0 since AK opened. That's false. You cannot count unbuilt things. There have been dozens and dozens of unbuilt things.

Add up the net additions/subtractions at MK, MGM, EC, and AK...and see what you get.

I bet it's around 0...or far to close
To that and not near the +10, +15 that is needs to be in that time lapse...

I won't even bring up that they have actually closed two entire guest areas and depleted even other out of the way ones...

It is what it is

I agree with you. That's why I get upset that the cheaters ruin it for others.

You said if you had a resort reservation... So then of course you have the other "strategy" of having a cheap "resort reservation" to obtain 30-60 day advance FPs (Disney is definitely aware of it). And you have those that would gladly pay for APs (even though they will only be going for two weeks a year) so they can get those (now invalid) extra FPs every day of their visit. Eventually all the things the honest guests have access to will be limited due to those that take advantage of it.

I do think though that limiting the FPs on APs makes it more fair to those that can only go once a year, or every few years as opposed to those that can go once a month and ride the Tier1 rides often. It does suck though if you just needed that one extra day for your visit. Sorry.

It's length of stay for an onsite reservation with an AP. We stay an average of 2 weeks so it's great to book all days @ 60 days out. There may be a limit of 7 or 10 days for the booking @ 60 days; but the days over that were rolling 60 days out.

With ONLY an AP, your onsite stay of 7 or more days
NOW prohibits you from making ANY days of FPs @ 30 days for an offsite stay.

YET if you have additional multi-tickets linked, you are allowed to book up to the 7 days.

Otherwise, you need to wait until you use one or more days of your onsite FPs until you have 6 or fewer days of FPs remaining,
then you may book the 1 or more days of offsite FP for a total of 7 days including the onsite days.

So you lose the 30-day booking privilege of multi/ticket users, with only being able to book @ 1-day ahead,
instead of the 30.
This places AP holders @ a disadvantage.

That was a lot to take in. :scratchin

It is what it is

In these lists attractions that were replaced like Maelstrom became Frozen is a wash or net 0. I also am not including meet and greets. I am including rides and shows though.

We will start with Magic Kingdom.
14 opening day attractions still are operating.
19 attractions were added over time.
13 attractions (this number is iffy but not that far off) are since closed.
Net +20

Epcot
4 opening day attractions still are operating.
12 were added since then.
4 have been closed.
Net +12

Hollywood Studios
1 opening day attraction remains
13 attractions were added.
9 have since closed.
Net +5

Animal Kingdom
8 opening day attractions remain.
7 attractions were added.
4 have closed.
Net +11

Ok...that sarcasm is coming right along...

...cause I know you're not trying to completely side step the "iger" element of the argument and rewind the clock to card walker days...are you?

Have we met?

I am just pointing out that it isn't as bad as you say it is. I agree 100% that from about 1999 to 2012, WDW parks were quite stagnant. Iger didn't do much of anything for WDW and they are now playing catchup.

Could you easily share these same figures with shows excluded? Curious what that would look like.

Ok...but that is the only argument I'm making...

I'm glad they built splash and the tower of terror...but those things don't do anything to address the crowd growth over the last 10-20 years..every day they fall a little more short.

Things are under construction...but as stated before the numbers mean that those attractions that really should have been constructed 10+ years ago due to growth are gonna get us back to square...if it's 2010.

What's big is who and what comes next.

I think Disney knows their big revenue is going to come from the parks for now as ESPN continues to be falling. That means for the time being investment is going to continue. Whoever they do get next hopefully sees that. The big problem is there are no clear front runners to take Iger's spot.

And aren't your "net numbers" off?

If you start with 14, add 19, then subtract 13...the net gain is 6?

Are you using University of Chicago math?

Well...you hope...

But so far that has meant they have grossly overcharged in parks to fool Wall Street that there's no loss in money due to espn...because bob is looking to retire.

I mean...that IS the point the last 5 years or so...anyway you try to spin it.

But that doesn't work forever.

I'm sure they'd love 100 million annual visitors paying $1,000 per hotel night and $200 a day ticket...or a $150,000 DVC contract...no doubt.

But that's logistically impossible. Watch what happens in recession...it's overdue. Get your popcorn.

14+19=33 - 13 = 20 Where are you getting 6?
LOL is looking at NET after opening day, not net from when Orlando had 0. So if you had 9 on opening day, you opened 15, closed 11, you have a total of 13, but the NET after opening is only 4. It just depends on whether you are starting from base case 0, or starting from base case of what was in each park at opening.
