What is free dining?

is a term used outside Disney. Essentially the offer is that you pay rack room rates and receive the DDP for no charge. This is one of the lower volume period for Disney so rooms are discounted.

The last four years or so Disney has offered this deal starting in the April time period. There are a limited number of rooms at each resort so you my not have your first choice. The value resorts book pretty fast as they offer the greatest value under this particular deal. The dates usually run from the last part of August to the third week or so of September. Disney has shaved days off the offer the couple of years. This may be because they have offered people doing the deal the opportunity to take the deal again the next year.

Whether or not you choose to take the deal, if offered, make your ADRs as soon as possible for your September trip. If there is free dining, and there will be some that bought it the previous year, the TS locations get booked. Walk-ups are extremely hard to get.

Free dining is a program where you buy a full priced Disney vacation pkg including resort stay and a minimum of a 1 day park ticket per person, and they give you the Basic Disney Dining Plan free.If it is going to be made available to everyone it is usually announced in early April. Right now only randomly selected individuals were offered a special code to book it early. There are a limited number of rooms per resort eligible for the promotion and they do book fast.I would keep your eyes on this board in the next several weeks for updates.
