what is fantasmic?

Fantasmic is a night time show at MGM. It is awesome. Something to truly not be missed. It involves many of the disney characters from all the movies . It is good vs. evil. All the disney villains vs. mickey. you'll see all the disney princesses too.

Here is a page I have with pictures of Fantasmic!

I also have a video on the home page (my link in my sig) that has it.

Anyways, Fantasmic is a show (like a stage show of sorts) that is set on a mountain in the middle of a little lake at a theatre in the Studios.

It is about Mickey's nightmares. It features a water effect where a wall of water is shot up and movie clips are played on it. It is very intense and just awesome.

It lasts 30 minutes and has lasers, fire, few fireworks, music, lights and actors.

It is an absolutely phenomenal show. I was speechless after I first saw it. I think some of it may be intimidating to small children (i.e. the dragon from Sleeping Beauty with the fire), but all in all it's great. They throw in good characters and princesses quite often. I can't go to Disney and not see the show. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Fantasmic is without a doubt my favorite night-time show at WDW. It is definitely a must-see and I even have a good excuse to see it again....gotta show my in-laws who have never been to WDW. :flower: :sunny:

:teeth: :cheer2: It is one of my very favorite things of all the Disney attractions! It is marvelous!

Fantasmic was so good my DS5sat still for the whole thing and wanted to go back the next night to see it again

This was amazing in itself. As I told him we would have to wait the hour plus for the show to begin again the next night and he said thats ok. Yes we saw it 2 times I mean how do you say no to something so good your Hyperactive son actually sits still for

Hmm. I hate to throw water on this. I read about FANTASMIC when it was only in DL, and really looked forward to seeing it in MK.
BUT, if you have to wait in line 45 minutes and sit in your seats for an hour (sometimes getting some good pre-show entertainment, sometimes not) for a 25 minute show that is (let's admit it) 50% films projected on screens made of water sprays, you might have second thoughts.

We have always come in late, got seats at the last moment, way over on the left, standing room once, and ALWAYS thoroughly enjoyed it. (The key was we always brought new people with us who had never seen it.) I am sure that the extra hour and 45 minutes would have detracted substantially from our enjoyment. I notice that the dinner packages DO NOT guarantee center seating (not that it is necessary) but do not really even guarantee good seating within their little area. Unless you get their early. So what's the point of an expensive dinner?

We caught the FANTASMIC at DL a few yars ago: it is relatively small scale, in terms of audience, (but not in terms of show) and we came in late and had to watch what we could see over peoples' heads. It's done on Tom Sawyer's Island and you just have to be on the walkways of Frontierland and New Orleans Square to see it. No huge stadium. Quite fascinating. When the big pirate ship (instead of the steamboat) came careening around the corner, I had forgotten that that was one of DL's big boats. A great effect. Plus that the Peter Pan theme is more included in the DL version of the show.

A nice show, but not worth 3 hours investment of time.

It would depend on which season you are there as far as how busy. If I remember correctly, there were 3 "screens" around the mountain, so if you sat in the lefthand or the righthand section, you had a great view, just like you were in the center. If you sat in between any of the three "screens", you will see a broken image; part on the left and part on the right. That's where I sat once. Does that make sense?

Fantasmic is an awesome show! We went last April and loved it! Only thing is, I would go kind of early and get a seat about half way up in the stands because water will shoot up and get on you if you have a seat close to water. But, without a doubt a show not to be missed! :wizard:

We went to Fantasmic during Spring Break week, and only waited like 15 min. That is the thing that my kids talk about the most, and are looking forward to seeing the most again. Imho, it is worth waiting for. It is amazing!! Have fun on your trip! :wizard:
