What is everyone doing this weekend?

So sorry to hear about your pup and kitty, Maggie.

Hugs to all who are under the weather -- hope you are all feeling better soon. :grouphug:

Tomorrow -- the beauty parlor for a new hair-cut, grocery-shopping, and the library with my mom. Sunday I'm working; trying to get our files in shape for an audit. I'd really like to try something different with my hair -- but I always chicken out at the last minute. Sigh.

Editing some Disneyland vacation video

umm - may I have some pointers???
I took about 10 hours of DVD video whilst on the transatlantic and med cruises...I have no idea of how to go about editing them.

Do I use special software? will Vista's internal/included editing stuff do the job? I am not even sure how to move the files over to the main computer...another words...HELP!!!

I am stuck here at work - listening to the thunder watching lightning, and generally being bored. I am SO glad it is raining...keeps the natives in side and out of trouble. (oh - did I mention I LIKE being bored at work????)

For those who don't know - I am in emergency services...hot soggy summer nights with power outages lead to lots of gunfire, knife fights and general stupidity...rain really helps!!

Rats...first job of the shift (it is 23:15)...and it is a DOA...oh well....more later

I use Adobe Elements to edit my video. It runs about $100, but is very easy to use. The software that came with computer and the camera is awful and I couldn't get it to work. Adobe Elements is very easy. To get the video on to your computer, you can either hook it up with te USB cord and it might work, or just finalize your DVD's, if they are read only, and copy them on to your hard drive by placing them in the DVD drive and copying the file.

We leave today for our Med cruise and get on the ship on Wednesday. Barcelona - here we come. The last one this summer for DCL before the ship heads back to Port Canaveral.

Geesh I hope everyone is feeling better soon! :grouphug:

Just work for me!

I am sorry I won't be much help. I have an iMac g5 and I have dealt with two kinds of camcorders. If you have a n older non digital camcorder you will need a device that you plug the camera into and then plug it into your computer. You will need video editing software as well. The device will make your analogue video into digital and it will go onto the video editing program. If you have a digital camera then you can plug it directly into the computer. You will still need the editing software. My iMac came with the soft ware and, assuming they are all similar, it was fairly easy to figure out without reading to much directions (kind of dumb but how I operate!) Once you get the hang of it it is really alot of fun.

Padalyn, I have Adobe PhotoShop Elements 4.0 on my laptop. I don't have alot of memory to play with, but your welcome to try it.

Have fun. You'll love the sights and cities you are about to go to. We did the inagural med. I also did the inagural Panama crossing. Not sure I'll do anymore DCL inagurals. But that is another conversation. I absoulutly loved Barcelona. I would go back in a heartbeat. We are in the final stages of planning our next big trip - Vienna Prague and Salzberg here we come!
