It's Disney's version of the timeshare.

can anyone give a basic run down of general costs? I've looked on the DVC boards, but I couldn't find a basic post that mentioned the costs for people just curious about it.

is there an annual fee and then you buy however many points you want? how many points does it take on average for a night's stay? I know it all depends on the resort etc....but anyone willing to provide the basics?

Cost is based on how many points you buy, with a minimum of 150 points. It is $101 per point as well as annual fees. You should post over in th DVC forums, they'd be happy to help you with any questions. Also, here's a link to help you out:
