Hi! I think after years of trying, I have made a deal my husband can't refuse. I told him he could get a motorcycle if I could buy DVC! I haven't looked into DVC for a couple of years, and after reading these boards, I see the BWV is sold out. Is a resale the only way to go? When are the Beach Club Villas expected to be completed? Thanks for the info!!

DVC is currently selling VWL. OKW and BWV are sold out and you would need to go to resale if you want to buy there.

Best guess on BCV's is Fall 2002, but there's lots of rumors floating that they are speeding that up.

Also, Disney still is selling VB and HH, but as you know they are not at WDW.

Currently Disney is selling the Villas at Wilderness Lodge, Vero Beach and Hilton Head directly. BWV is sold out-but can be purchased through a resale. I believe Beach Club will open in 2002-exactly when is a bit up in the air-I have heard in the fall.
Good luck in finding what you want! They are all great-each with its own unique features.

BWV is indeed sold out. If you want to buy direct from Disney, you can buy at the new "Villas at the Wilderness Lodge" for $72/point currently and $75/point as of June 3rd.

Resales are the way to go if you want the BWV. You probably won't save a tremendous amount of money over buying direct from Disney as BWV resale prices have gone up recently, but if you want to be in the Epcot area it will certainly save you money over waiting for the beach club villas to open (prices can only go up!)

The other advantage of BWV is that you have standard view rooms for fewer points than preferred view rooms and Disney's current trend is to have preferred view point levels only.

Another advantage is you get to own DVC for a year or two longer than if you wait for the BCV. It will take you that much less time to recoup the costs of buying in in the first place!

Also wondering, sorry should have asked last time, what is the cost per point now?

Thanks again!

Sorry for the last question, I hadn't noticed your post yet Lisa. Geesh, $72.00/point now, when I first started looking at this it was around $60.00/point. Of course that has been a few years. I think you are right about finding a BWV resale. I really do prefer the Epcot area.

Thanks!

That you would have MADE money if you would have bought sooner, you can still grab a resale for around $68 a point, but I bet that goes up in June too.

From my recent experience in buying a BWV resale, I would estimate that the market is around:

$60 for 500 pts, $65 for 350 pts, $68 for 150 pts.

Good Luck!

Wow! Resale prices are up!

I bought 150 pts. at BWV last year for $67. I just made a dollar a point! LOL
Of course, I'd have to sell...

FAT CHANCE!!

Thanks for all the replies! I can't believe how much the value has increased in the last 5 years. Darned husband anyway!!! LOL

Here's some cool math....

We bought 430 point at $51 per point. We have two contracts, so we will be able to get the high per point price, 200 & 230. Resales are about $4 less than direct from Disney. So, let's say we could resell for $71 per point in a few months.

$20 per point profit. Ten years of dues averaging $3 per point, $30. If we were to sell, our 70+ night in OKW GVs plus a few points here and there would have cost about $4300 or less than $50 per night.

A GV at OKW for $50 per night.

That doesn't even count 70+ times 6 passes per night or 430 one day park hoppers.

I actually made money by joining....if you count the passes, they paid me to stay at OKW.

Wow! Rich, that is awesome!!! Hopefully it will keep increasing like that! (But will wait til after I buy!)
