What is Dominos Pizza like in your little niche of the world? [EDIT] What about Pizza Hut?

I remember loving Pizza Hut when I first tried it, but it was back when the deep dish pies were brought to the table in heavy metal pans and served, refillable plastic glasses, salad bar… We’d go when we went to wildwood (were from north NJ and we didn’t have any). The ones that eventually opened here were the new version, and they didn’t last long.

We no longer have a Pizza Hut anywhere around here. They disappeared about 4 years ago. I loved their pizza's.

Our go to pizza (non-frozen) are Marcos and Dominos. It’s cheap and decent tasting. Pizza Hut is ehh, Little Ceasers is yuck. We often order Dominos for student events and it’s not bad. They just came out with a stuff crust so we might order that for dinner.

In the past Pizza Hut used to seem to have such a "cool factor"... I dunno, the atmosphere, Pizza was good enough, it was fun. I haven't been to Pizza Hut in a long time. I've had carryout every now and then. It is not my first choice, but it's fine. I definitely wouldn't turn it down.

The actual Pizza, I much prefer Dominos.

That said, I like about any pizza lol

We have a Dominos but not a Pizza Hut. :( (I miss the Pizza Hut of my childhood.)

Our Dominos is pretty good price-wise. Taste-wise, it's probably in the middle for the area, as we do have a lot of good options here.

Pizza Hut used to be good, and was the best of the big-chain pizza places, especially dining-in at one fo the "Red Roof" locations. They were cool and fun. I always dug the persoanl pan pizzas. At one point htey had a buffet too and that was great. It was never the best pizza in teh world, but it would do, especially if they had some kind of cross propmtion with the Ninja Turtles! 🤣

I can't even remember the last time I have had Pizza Hut, so I couldn't say if the pizza is still good or not. I do find it to be way more expensive than Domino's, which has better deals, so if I am wanting cheap, chain-place pizza, then I will hit Dominos. I doubt they are much different quality-wise really.

I've worked for the three major pizza chains and even ran a Papa John's for a couple years. I would rank the three of them this way, Papa Johns, Pizza Hut and then Domino's. All of this assumes a similar level of competence of the staffs across the three. In my area that's just not true as the Papa John's staff is far better at their jobs and maintaining corporate standards than the other two. That being said, if I'm ordering one pizza just for me, I'm going with a large Pan Meat Lover's from Pizza Hut. When I'm ordering for the family, it usually comes down to Pizza Hut for delivery and Little Ceasar's for pick up. We've ordered Domino's twice in the almost three years we've lived in this house and it was horrible both times.

Most US franchise food just got more and more icky since maybe 2010 & it all just started to taste like salty chemical combos that looked like food but didn't taste like food, it reminded me of that game The Sims so I call it Sim Food. I wonder if it is the same sort of chemical changes that happen with those fake sugars where you can short out your taste buds after a few days and not taste it any more in things like diet soda.

I've only ever had franchise pizza at children's birthday parties in PA when a parent would get some for the other parents who stuck around as extra help. If I remember correctly Chuck E Cheese Pizza was the one I was most OK with back then.

Well my city was just ranked #1 for pizza so I do not eat either of those chains. We love our pizza in Rochester and I have many local places that I frequent.
