What is DDE?

Could someone explain to me what DDE is and how it differes from the Dining Plan?

DDE (Disney Dining Experience) is a discount card, formerly available to FL residents ONLY...last year (and for 2006) it became available to all Annual Passholders, whether they lived in FL or not.

It is good for 20% off at almost all Disney operated full service and buffet restaurants, it is also good for alcoholic beverages at most Disney bars/lounges. Also good for 20% off at counter service venues in the Animal Kingdom.

The "Dining Plan" is an all inclusive pre-paid dining plan for 1 full service, one counter meal and 1 snack per day at a cost of $37.99 per adult per day and $10.99 per child. The plan is available as part of a WDW resort package, or seperately to DVC resort guests staying on trips booked through Member Services. The plan must be purchased for everyone on the room for the entire length of stay (in nights).
