I have an adr for Capt n Jack's at downtown Disney booked for our upcoming trip, but I am having some concerns now,as I really don't hear too much about it.Are their opinions out there? I tried to look on the menu but there is none on the Dis for this particular restraunt. Also what are the opinions out there for Wolfgang Pucks Cafe.Again,no menu here yet,and I am not sure what sort of food they have there. For those who have eaten at either or better yet both, which restraunt would you choose?

We had lunch at Cap. Jack's last fall. It was just OK. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either...the view was good, though. We're not planning on returning, there's better places to eat at DTD, like WPC...which you mentioned. We have a ADR for there our upcoming trip! Any of the Pucks are great IMHO and far better food quality than Cap. Jack's. Come to think of it, I'd take WPE over Cap. Jack's (and that's a CS over a TS).

Don't get me wrong, Cap. Jack's wasn't horrible...but I just think there's better restaurants out there to choose from. ;)

I hope this helps! :goodvibes

We really liked it here. It was good food. But they took away the lobster. :(

For us the only draw was the lobster. Since that went away, there is no reason to eat there. Food is average to below average. Value is below average.

Capt. Jacks was our first meal last Oct., It was not our favorite, the food was ok, but the service was so slow, when finally got our meal the server rushed us to hurry up and finished.

Wolf Gang Puck Express was wonderful, I am not sure if they serve the same food as the Cafe.

We actually made our first trip to Cap'n Jacks in early May. We went for lunch on a Thursday and were one of only about 6 families in the entire restaurant. It was quiet and a great break from the usual noise and bustle of WDW restaurants.

It was nice to sit looking over the water.

This was DP's Blue Crab Melt topped with smoked mozzarella cheese, tomatoes and Cajun-mustard aioli on focaccia bread, served with Napa cabbage slaw. She enjoyed this quite a bit.

I started my meal with the New England Clam Chowder expecting it to be rich a full of clams and potatoes. It was okay. Nothing more special than I could get in any ordinary restuarant.

My shrimp and penne pasta in a creamy lobster sauce was actually quite good and VERY filling. I could not finish the meal and I am an eater! We both ended up taking our fruit salad that was our dessert choice home with us for breakfast the next morning. We both were full from our lunch.

The children's items were very limited. Mac-n-cheese, PB Uncrustables and chicken nuggets.

There is a menu on allears.net. http://allears.net/menu/men_cjl.htm

DH and I ate there in January of 2007. This was back when they had the lobster. The lobster was fine (for me lobster is always nice), but the other entrees were VERY heavy. I remember both of ours felt like they were flavored blocks of heavy cream with pasta. Don't get me wrong, I loves me the heavy cream... but this was too much. I felt weighed down after the meal and could only eat a few bites. I don't remember what DH had. I think I had the Shrimp and Penne Pasta.

We do not plan on returning.

Thank you to everyone for all your opinions, they were a great help to me to make the decision to go for Wolfgang Pucks. My daughter ate there earlier this month and raved about how much she enjoyed her meal there, which is what started me thinking about all of this in the first place. So now I just have to see if I can get an ADR for there that night. Thanks again everyone,I appreciate your help!:thumbsup2

We went there for a cocktail and some appys. it was good, if you want better seafood at DTD go to Fultons.
