What is Bradenton Like

We are having a week on site at Disney and then a week in a Villa at Bradenton.

I can't find much about it on the internet can people let me know what the beach is like, recommend good restruants and also the wife wants to know where the closest large shopping mall is.

We visited Anna Maria Island which is on the same island as Bradenton Beach and it was the best beach we have ever been on there are some great resturants as well. www.sandbar-restaurant.com/index.cfm?fa=home.main

I cannot tell you about Bradenton that much other than we stayed at some nice Villas several years ago when my son played baseball there. We live about 70-80 minutes south of there. I know there are outlet malls not too far. One on each side of the I-75. The one on the east side in Ellenton is the better of the 2. There is a very large mall that is up near Tampa.. which would be your best bet if you want to drive about 30-40 minutes. It is a Westfield Mall and is on the east side of I-75. There are other malls that will be closer than that one, but to give you an example of how nice that mall is, my DS, DD & friends will go there to shop & we live about 2 hours from there

We've been vacationing for a month every July for the past 19 years at Anna Maria. The beaches are the absolute best there. Tony64, gotta love the Sandbar huh?!? Been going there for so darn long, seen alot of changes there. Ellenton is some great shopping, can't wait to get there in July. Bradenton itself is a regular little city, one mall there that's decent. But the beach areas are fabulous.

My mother and stepfather just moved to Bradenton three months ago. They really are enjoying it. They said the traffic is heavy, but the beaches are really nice. We will also be staying there for a week before going to Disney. If you have any tips for the best places to go please post and let us know. There is a very large flea market if you enjoy those. We will shopping when we go. It is called Red Barn flea market and plaza. My mother like it. If you need an address just let me know. They also said there was a really nice bowling alley. If you like to bowl. There is a pirate cove putt putt golf, you can feed the baby alligators there. If you need any more info I will get in touch with them and see what info they can come up with. They are learning new things daily, since they haven't been there long. We are looking forward to our trip there and then off to WDW. Counting down the days. Hope you have a wonderful time also.
