What is the best section to request at SSR?
I would prefer to be at the 1st or 2nd bus stop. If you are near the last stop, you either don't get a seat or end up waiting for 1 or more buses to come.

Yes, grandstand then carousel then paddock then congress park and finally springs is the park bus order.

Best section though is matter of opinion. Personal opinion is Congress Park for best lake/Downtown Disney view

Have requested it twice and gotten it both times, I love and use the balconies and this DTD view both during daytime but especially at night is superb!

No request landed me in the forsaken area 51 called "Carousel" Did it ruin my vacation, no not really, for whatever reason I decided to go in Feb and didn't use the balcony much since it was 30 degrees, rainy with gail force winds! I still don't want to end up there again though, the view of the parking lot, the remoteness to food, drink and fun, it's a drag!

Congress Park is a great view and super convenient for a walk to DTD. Grandstand is great if you have kids who would enjoy the spray guns and pool. It is also an easy walk to the clubhouse and the boat to DTD.
Right now, though, any room in SSR would be mighty fine by me.
:)

Congress Park is my favorite - the view is fantastic and you can easily walk to DTD. Depends on your group - if you have older teens they'll love being able to walk to DTD.

Based on what I saw the past week with Springs (section closest to the main pool)guests usually being SRO due to full buses, I'm inclined to say Carousel may now be better than Springs. And after the Paddock pool/dining upgrade, Carousel really will not have the distance issue to quality facilities.

On our last trip home we stayed at Grandstand and now, that is our favorite. Just so you know it is the first stop to and from the parks, but I believe is either the second or third stop coming from DTD.
Can't wait to go home again!!

I've only stayed at SSR once and we were in the Paddock section. It was lovely. We were in a building next to the pool (the main pool was closed for refurbishment at the time.) Since I planned to cook all meals and not deal with CS, we loved the location. However, if I had to walk over to CS, I probably wouldn't have liked it as much. The whole resort is lovely and peaceful. I found it very relaxing.
