What is best Cell phone plan.....

Another vote for Straight Talk. I switched from Sprint at $89 a month to ST for $45 a month (with taxes in our state it comes to roughly $51/month) but its unlimited everything. They have several phones to choose from, even a Blackberry type phone.

They use Verizon towers so reception is great. As far as their customer service goes.....I have had a long wait once and a totally clueless rep but the few other times Ive even had to call its been just fine. No diff than you would run into with any other customer service person.

WELL worth the savings over a regular carrier to me.

While looking for a new phone recently I really wanted something without a contract. What I found was Tmobile prepaid plan for 50 a month. This comes with unlimited Phone/Text/Web(first 100 MB at 4g everything else at 2g). While I did have to purchase my own phone it was still going to save me in the long run.

We just switched to Virgin Mobile a few weeks ago. DH and I both got the LG Optimus V, which is an Android phone, and we are on the 1200 min talk/unlimited text and web plan for $40/month. We ported our numbers from AT&T. Some people have complained about porting, but it took less than an hour for our numbers to be ported over (just make sure you have all the information you need to give them so the porting goes smoothly-- with AT&T, that includes giving any passwords that might be related to your #). We LOVE all the Andriod bells and whistles, but our house is apparently a Sprint dead zone :sad2:. We barely get reception in our house anymore. We had originally planned on cancelling our home phone when we got these phones, but we're keeping it for now until we can get a solution to the dead-zone problem worked out. The good news: the phones work GREAT everywhere but my house! DH even called me from the elevator at his work in the Texas Med Center (a notorious dead zone-- he used to lose me ALL the time there when we had AT&T) with full bars! For now, we're pseudo happy-- I would have been ecstatic if we would have been able to cancel our home phone. BTW-- On their "coverage map" my house is in a "good coverage" area-- not the best, but not "fair" or uncovered, so their map isn't always right. I would suggest finding someone with Sprint or Virgin and taking their phone to your house before you sign up. --Katie

I love my sprint. Just got quoted $224 WITH my work discount at verizon :scared1: That didn't even include phone insurance. I only wanted to switch because I wanted an IPHONE, but its not even worth it. My sprint bill is way less than that, and I always have service.

I've got a Blackberry with Virgin Mobile right now and it runs me $38/mth with taxes. I'm very satisfied with the service.

However, I've been wanting to switch to the LG Optimus V (I want a bigger screen) and I just discovered Radio Shack has it on sale for $149.99 (reg $199) in-store only through 6/4/11. That's the best price I've seen since it first came out. I'm going to get my anniversary present a little early

Well after being a Virgin fan I finally got sick of the dropped calls on both of our phones(one Optimus, one paylo) and the constant data outages & having to go into airplane mode several times an hour. I'm back to AT&T.

I vote for PagePlus. You get Verizon Prepaid coverage. They have a $29.95 plan which gives you 1200 minutes, 2000 sms/mms and 100 MB data. My husband is on this plan and I am using pay as you go. The pay go rate is 4¢ to 10¢ per minute depending on which phone card you buy. We have been using their service since last August and we love it.

Another vote for PagePlus. I've got one phone on the 1200/2000/100 plan that you listed above and 3 other low use phones on the $10/120 refill cards. Total monthly cost for 4 lines is about $35~$36. Coverage has been excellent so far - on a drive last year from PA to MS my wife with her pageplus phone had better coverage and signal than I had from my AT&T work phone. Keep in mind that PP uses Verizon's prepaid network so you can imagine how large their coverage area is.

I was going to go with PagePlus until I learned about their horrible customer service.

FYI: I have heard you can port the number to a pre-paid/non-contract telephone service but if you want to go back or switch pre-paid/non-contract, you can't. I have heard there are problems with T-Mobile prepaid (can't check call log online anymore) and people's 1000 minutes ($100/year) are disappearing after a few days.

That's a nice price!

I got mine today from HSN. Sure it's at the regular price of 199... BUT they allow you to make 4 "flex" payments of 50 bucks each. Plus they give you a month of service for free, a car charger and a rubber phone skin. Not a bad deal... I'm glad I ordered mine. Finally. :)

Radioshack also has a coupon this week for $10 off any purchase...I've been waiting to upgrade to this phone, so I'm super excited.

And I'm another vote for Virgin Mobile. The beyond talk plans are really reasonable and flexible, and I've never had any real problems that weren't fixed. I've had better experience with their customer service than most other places.
