I am hoping that someone will share their recipe for crab dip. I would like to make this as an appetizer for Thanksgiving.

Morrocan Cigars. It's spicy minced meat or chicken wrapped in phyllo dough, and rolled into the shape of a small cigar.

Depends on the restaurant for some of them. Shrimp cocktail or peel & eat is always a great choice for me.

Calamari at Olive Garden (love their dipping sauce!)
California roll or Tempura California roll at Japanese restaurant
French Onion soup (especially Applebees)
Beer batter onion rings
Fried zucchini (especially batter dipped, mmmm)
Guacamole
Nachos

Dried beef dip I make for parties.

At home:
chicken enchilada dip
and a really easy dip that has just sour cream, salsa, and shredded cheddar cheese.

I'm trying very hard to duplicate an appetizer I had at the Sheraton on the Falls in Niagara Falls.

Basically it was smoked Salmon slices that were rolled up and stuffed with and herb and cream cheese mixture. These were then served with Olives, capers, and Pumpernickle triangles. yum!!

At a restaurant I love fried mushrooms and also like spinach artichoke dip.

At home I like ranch/bacon/cheddar dip. Here’s the recipe for that:

Ingredients:
1 packet/1 oz.
Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Dips Mix

1 container/16 oz.
Sour cream

1 cup
Shredded Cheddar cheese

1/4 cup
Crisp-cooked, crumbled bacon (bacon pieces may be used)

Potato or corn chips, for dipping

Preparation:
Combine dips mix with sour cream. Stir in cheese and bacon. Chill at least 1 hour. Serve with potato or corn chips.

Makes about 3 cups.

Hmm, why do so many appetizers contain cheese of some sort?

My favorite appetizer is probably bacon-wrapped scallops.

I make a chili dip that is so simple butpeople rave about it. I can't show up at a party without it, lol.

8 oz cream cheese
can of chili(no beans)
8 oz of shredded cheddar or mexican cheese

In a microwave safe dish(I use a 8x8 glass pyrex) spread the cream cheese, pour the chil on top and then sprinle the cheese over the chili. Microwave it for about 6 minutes. Serve with Tostitoes-I use the scoops.


This is a clam dip that always goes over well.

1/4 butter, melted
6 oz can minced clams
1 small onion, chopped
1 sleeve of Ritz crackers
1 tbs oregano
1 tbs garlic powder
1 cup parmesan cheese

Mix all together, put into a small ramiken and bake at 350 for about 25-30 minutes. Serve with additional Ritz

At a restaurant...spinach artichoke dip (there is a small town restaurant in our town that makes the best ever).

For home parties, I love corn dip. 8oz bag shredded cheddar, 1 can white corn (drained), 3/4 cup miracle whip and 3/4 cup sour cream. Mix together and serve with corn chips. If I had known the ingredients, I would have never tried it...but now it is one of my favorites.

Do you bake the corn dip? Sounds very similar to a spinach dip I have, just replacing with corn and cheddar. Sounds different, something to mix up the same old same old.
