What is a super saver rate?

A super saver rate is the term used for a discounted rate. It is offered during January when I am going, so I'm thinking it might be offered during the slower times of the year. The rate is cheaper the longer you stay - I'm not sure of the figures but just as an example my rate for 5 nights is $171, if I stayed 4 nights it would be a little more per night.

From what I can see on the website, late August does qualify for Super Savings. We will be staying there the last week of August 08, but the rate is not offered right now. We will just have to keep cheking and hoping.

f i remember correctly- the supersaver rate was available this July/August, think it was 20% at RPR and 10 to 15% at HRH and PBH

Where do you find the supersaver rate? Is it available to everyone? Thanks, Kim

The Universal website or Loews website ...OR here on the DIS (someone will announce it's out)

Supersaver experts: Can you combine the Supersaver rate with a AAA room rate? If not, historically which has been better?

Also, is there a link that shows historical rates, etc.

No, the rates are not combinable...you use one or the other.... Depends on the number of days you are going....usually Supersaver is 4 days better prices....but last summer, the SuperSaver was just about the same amount of money as my AAA discount..so, I stuck w/ AAA (and because AAA is a Loews First Member qualifying rate)....

There is a "sticky" at the top of the page with all the dates/rates for 2007....you just have to scroll thru and see who booked supersaver, as they are categorized by "date" ;)

Is the supersaver rate not a qualifying rate for Loews First? I thought all rates offered by Universal were qualifiying rates - but if you booked through Expedia, Hotwire or other nonaffiliated companies that you didn't qualify for Loews First upgrades?

We have used the supersaver rate and I called LoewsFirst to verify it was a qualifying rate. I was assured it was and was told the same thing - any rate available on the Loewshotels website and booked through the Loewshotels site or Loewshotel or Universal reservations phone number (Universal Vacations is different and a third party), with the exception of the APH rate is a qualifying rate. As long as anybody can get it (doesn't have to be a member of something like Annual pass holder - exception is AAA), then it is a qualifying rate.

We did get our welcome gifts. And we are still platinum, so I am assuming the nights were counted towards our LoewsFirst status.

goofy! is correct....i just remember a DISer having a problem w/ a ss rate "qualifying".... hhmm... :scratchin I wonder how that worked out?
