Florida figures that, after age 6, children will be in school during the day.

On the day that I was summoned for, they were seating a jury for a murder trial for a man who had been tried twice before and had hung juries. They were expecting the trial to last 2 weeks. And there had been no notification on my summons. Where I live, there is no way to tell exactly what trials will be scheduled for a specific day that someone is summoned. Some may be a single day, some a couple of days, and some longer.

Debi, I would at least ask for a postponement for your service and tell them why. If they deny you, there is not much that you can do. But it is worth asking.
