What is a good time to make dinner reservations

It really depends on what time you like to have your dinner. Everybody's different. We like between 5:30 & 6:30. That works for us. With that time in mind when you call you have to be flexiable to move up or down in time. It's hard to get your exact time. Hope that helps some.

It depends on what you're looking for and who will be eating with you. We have three kids, so we try to eat as close as possible to our regular meal times. It helps us to keep our kids on their usual schedule. If DH & I go out for dinner without the kiddos, we like to eat later, like 7:00 or 8:00.

My intentions are making the ressie for 4:30 or 5:00 in hopes that we'd be seated and eating by 5-5:30. Later dinner reservations with my kids might not be a whole lot of fun.

If you're on the DDP I find TS dinners around 4pm work out great. That way you can do a CS breakfast and have a snack at around noon.

That was kind of what our intentions are going in right now. I do want to do one TS breakfast but otherwise, what you just said is our plan. In fact that's normally how we roll on any vacation - quick breakfast, snacky stuff for lunch and then an early big dinner.

That's the one thing I am liking about the DDP - it seems rather flexible to me. Granted, never done it before so we shall see. Seems others find it inflexible.

Yup this was the basic plan we followed on our last trip and it kept us full and content:) The one big mistake we made was booking restaurants that were at other parks or resorts than where we were for the rest of the day. We found ourselves speed walking down Hollywood Blvd. at DHS trying to make a not-so-well-planned ADR at Chef Mickeys. Needless to say, this year we will be a bit smarter with our choices!

We are a party of adults and we approach it totally differently.
We bring things and order from wegoshop.com to have food for a light breakfast in our room. Then we have an early CS lunch and a TS dinner at 7:30 - 8:30. This works really well for us and it mimics what we do at home.
Have a Great Trip

it depends on your preference. we eat really early at home ( I work 12 hr night shifts)so we go with 4p or 430p on vacation.

For years now, we have been making our dinner ADRs for between 7:00 and8:00 p.m. (the closer to 7:00 the better) Florida is an hour ahead of our time at home. We have found that most table service meals require about an hour or maybe an hour and fifteen minutes to complete (especially if they are character meals). By the time we finish the meal, we are able to go out and watch the nighttime entertainment.

Well, depends of what time you want to eat your dinner but if your with children, just be early like 5:30 or 6:00 will do.

Have a nice trip coming. :)

We are doing a light breakfast in the room, CS for an early lunch then TS around 5:00 pm. I was able to get 100% of the ADRs that I wanted with in 15 minutes of this time. With early ADRs, you still have time after dinner to do something at the parks.

My ADRs
Coral Reef
O'hana
Nine Dragons
Le Cellier
Biergarten
Le Chefs
Teppan Edo
Whispering Canyon Cafe

With ADRs open to anyone - not just those staying on the property - I found it harder to get the times we wanted and have been settling for earlier times because folks on the Boards are saying we could have a half hour or more wait. I guess, relax, be flexible, and keep smiling ... its all MAGICAL !!!
