What is a good time for Cabana massage on CC & price?

Finally talked DH into a massage (hopefully we can get a reservation). I heard don't take the 1st appt. Any comments when is a good time? We're leaving the kids with grandma while we go. Also, it's not listed on Disney's website. Is there a special couple's price?

I would say ABSOLUTELY take the earliest appointment! That's what we did and it worked out wonderfully. We were told to meet at the spa, then we were escorted off the ship FIRST, and one of the spa girls escorted us all the way to the cabanas, we were the first to ride the trams and didn't have to wait for anything. By the time we were being massaged, most people were first getting off of the ship. The MAIN reason to have the massage earlier is because after some time in the sand, salt and sun, it can be uncomfortable. They really do a wonderful job. It was the best massage I've ever had and I've had them all over the world. My gal was from Africa somewhere and she was so tiny that I thought she'd never be able to massage me hard enough, SHE WAS WONDERFUL!! Anyway, the entire time I was laying there I thought, I am so glad I didn't get into the water, or lay in the sand before I got here, Yikes, that would hurt. PLUS, the oils she used made my skin sooooo soft and glowing all day, I didn't need any suntan oil.

Forgot to answer the rest. They don't have a "couples cabana" massage per say. We thought they did until we went to sign up and they said they could put us both in the same cabana that has a partial divider wall. We were able to talk to each other (though we didn't really, it would have spoiled the atmosphere). I could hear him talking and he could hear me and that was about as close as we got. The price was about $125.00 pp (if I remember correctly). That could have been with the tip. Maybe it was $100.00. Anyway it was around that price.

They have very few spots open and they fill up fast, so sign-up right away if you are at all interested in this. Oh yeah, My gal was from Zimbabwe!

That's a change. Both time that DW & I, we did the "couples cabana" massage at the adult beach, and both times is was an open room without any dividers. Of course that's been about 3-4 years since we've done the couples cabana massage.

However, I too would aggree with the idea of trying to get the first reservation of the day. We did that both times and loved it. In our case, it warmed our musscle up such that we were able to snorkel the whole day at CC and neither one of us got sore.

About the only reason I can think anyone would recomend that you DON'T get the 1st appointment of the day is the fact that sometimes the ship doesn't disembark "on schedule" because they have to first get proper government clearance to do so. So it's possible that you might be a little rushed getting to your appointment, and I don't know what the policey is if disembarcation is "significantly" delayed.

I got DW one of those last time (on our honeymoon..awwww). It was great, but the only thing that distracted from it was the masseuse trying to push product. I understand from another thread that you can note "no soliciting" or something to that effect when you make the reservation. I'm sure these ladies get a commission, but we tip well, so it wasn't that big a deal. So if we do that again, we'll be sure to mention "no soliciting".
