My uncle was a Boost Wireless subscriber and I heard a rumor that Boost Wireless no longer exists and I would like to know a good mobile phone company that my uncle can try and does any mobile phone companies offer New Year's Day deals on phones as well?

For cheap, Total Wireless. Used them for a few years. When there are no issues, they're great. Had some issues that caused my wife to declare we were going back to post paid Verizon. My mother loves her Consumer Cellular, but she doesn't use her phone much.

I have PureTalk, which runs on the AT&T network. You can bring your own unlocked phone, port your number, etc. I have unlimited talk + text + enough data that I never run out, even at WDW, all for about $24/month.

I think it's possible that Mint Mobile might be slightly cheaper, but not sure.

If he’s not a heavy user… he may wish to consider Consumer Cellular. It’s a company that tailor makes phone service to older users and those who aren’t tech savvy.

My husband has been pretty happy with Tello Mobile, he has the unlimited plan and it’s only $27. A few times I’ve had service outages with Verizon and he’s still had service.

I've had 8 lines with US Mobile for 2 years and can recommend them. You can pick from the 3 networks for coverage & tailor the plans for the amount of data needed from Unlimited to what I have my parents on the "by-the-gig" plan. One line is $10 month all taxes fee's included for 2gb data (they are on wifi most of the time). If they near the end of the 2gb of data it sends a message and auto-top up charges $2 for another gig. But if using more then 10gb of data a month - one of the unlimited plans would be best.

Edit to add: Customer service is available via phone, chat, email or Reddit. Vs some companies are chat only.

Visible (aka prepaid Verizon but for people pinching pennies) works great and is reasonably priced, but it's all app based. This may or may not work for him, depending on tech savvy.

I'm a Pure Talk user, too.

Excellent service and very inexpensive.

Boost Mobile is not going out of business it has been transitioning to use AT&T and T-Mobile towers to provide service

I wish she would actually do a Google search on some things instead of posting rumors that aren't true.

Does Consumer Cellular also offer phones with emergency services too? Because if my uncle were to have an emergency such as a fire medical emergency or needs to call the police does Consumer Cellular offer phones that have these services similar to Life Alert? And how much would it cost if you added emergency service to a Consumer Cellular phone?

Well, the rumor is not true. Boost Mobile is not only still around, but is expanding. They are owned by Dish Networks owner, Ecostar. And I see advertisements for them every day on TV. So no need to switch. They are the fourth largest cellular provider.
