Is it like the Fantasmic package where you get a certain area roped off for CP? And, I guess, while I am asking...what exactly is CP and where at EPCOT is it done? Does it have anything to do with the tree lighting?

Thanks!

The CP dinner package is The Candelight Processional Dinner package. It is a christmas show with a choir done in the American Pavillion at the theater across from the American Adventure.

This is how it works. When the packages become available to book, you book it with a restaurant. I think 9 or so restaurants participate in the World showcase and future world areas of Epcot. You will eat lunch or dinner, and then you will have a pass which gives you guaranteed seating at the show.

The show itself has a celebrity narrarator who tells the christmas story and many people find the show moving and putting you in the christmas spirit.
It is a very very popular show and is held 3 times per night. I don't recommend the earliest show as I think its better once its dark.

It's crucial to get the package if your planning to see the show on a weekend or any time Christmas week. Lines for the show go as far back as 4 World showcase countries away!!!

Even with the package, the line could be pretty long, so I recommend showing up at least 45 minutes early. There is no special seating. The only guarantee is that you will get seated ahead of standby guests.

Is there a link to find out the 2008 dates? When can you reserve for 2008?

I think you can only reserve 3 months out. If you go with the CP dinner package, make sure you're in line an hour early for the show! I did it last year, got in line 30 minutes ahead of time, and the line was already backed up to France... For "priority seating" nonetheless! It really is worth it though if you make the time! :thumbsup2

Can I add a question? how does it work with the DDP? Is that included as well? I know the fantasmic package is so is the CP? And if so does LeCellier or Coral Reef considered 1 or 2 TS credits with the CP?

Thanks

Last year the packages started booking July 2nd. Hopefully that's when they'll start again this year!
I'm really looking forward to it!

Just a quick note for IMGONNABE40!. My family went in Dec. 2003 and I originally booked a CP dining package. However, after discussing it with my DM and others, we decided to wing it without the package and use that money to go to MVMCP instead. It was a good decision for us. :goodvibes

We arrived early in the evening of Dec. 10 (so it was early into the holiday season) and since my DNiece who was with us is a DLR CM we used her ID to get into Epcot for a few hours. (Didn't have to use a full day's tix :rotfl: ) Anyway, we decided to check out CP at the American Pavillon and the show was going to start in about 15 mins, or so. Everyone who was in line was already seated and there was plenty of seating available in the back part of the seats. So, we watched the show for awhile, but then members of our group (inc. DD then 4) got restless and we left before it finished. Anyway, my point is, if you are going early in the season, on a weekday, you may not need to book a package to see the show. And I remember reading before that trip that "preferred seatings" guests still had to wait in line 45 min, or longer, and there was no guarantee of seat location. Some even mentioned being seated behind a post.

Have fun no matter what you decide! :santa:
