What is a "Check Meal" that I now see on menu's?

So I was reviewing my ADR's for my trip this week and noticed at the bottom of some of the restaurants there's a "Check Meal" option with a reduced price. I see it's available for adults and kids. Are these reduced portions and/or does this have to do with something else regarding the meal itself? I called Disney Dining and the representative was surprised by this option and did not have any information about it. Anyone experienced this that can share some insight as to how this option works?

I went looking around at menus after reading your question, and I see them being called "Mickey Check" meals. And I have a vague recollection of seeing that on the kid's menus at a few of the restaurants we went to in Feb. From what I noticed, it's a "full" meal for kids (I only saw it on the kid menus), and on the Artist Point online menu there was a notice that it's a nutritionally "complete" meal with no substitutions (which I take to mean if there are no substitutions then it's "complete"....NOT that there are no substitutions allowed).

We never made use of them because all the Mickey Check meals we saw had meat in them, and we're vegetarian. Just seems to be a different option for kids, and it seems like they are trying to make the more adventurous (and omnivorous) eaters happy.

I believe they were on most kids menus. If I recall it was a nutritionally balanced meal for kids with no substitutions.

Never seen them anywhere but on kids' menus. They are supposed to be healthier items or balanced meals based on Disney's Magic of Healthy Living initiative.

Food and beverage items that feature the "Mickey Check" meet Disney's specific nutrition criteria for limited calories, saturated fat, sodium, and sugar.
