What is a "cash stay?"

I have seen this referenced in a few threads, namely when talking about staying in a DVC room. I have book a studio at AKL that I understand is normally a DVC room, even though I booked it through Disney. The CM on the phone said payment was due upon check-in, but made no mention of it having to be in cash. Is paying in cash necessary for DVC rooms booked through Disney?

Angi is right. But you basically book it as a hotel stay. You get maid service every day that way too. The term Cash stay doesn't mean you have to pay Cash.

I believe it's handled by a different Disney department also.
Which is why you get daily maid service vs. every 4 day (or however it is with DVC)
Disney is really 1 huge company made up of a bunch of tiny little companies (well, some aren't so little) and they often operate almost like competitors do
Not really, but to outsiders they sure appear to.
The different entities that run the Resorts, Travel Company, Vacation Club, Parks, etc are some that fall in this area

Ok, so it's just a term for "I'm paying with money instead of points." That's good. I would have felt funny showing up with a big 'ole wad of cash in my pocket. I figured it was best to ask though just in case!
