What is a bounce back offer?

From what I've read a bounce back offer is just that - it's Disney's way of getting you back to the park with a good deal.

But how do you get them? Email? Snail mail?

Does everyone who has stayed there get one?

Can you help me understand a little bit about how this works?

I ask because we leave in 2 months but I'd love to go back with DH for just a few days for our Anniversary next year.

THANKS!

It is a offer to return to Disney that is placed in your resort room with a deposit. It is usually made with a discounted offer. For us, since we went during Free Dining, our Bounce Back offer was for us to return again this year with Free Dining again this year, but we had to book it and give them a $200 deposit before we left. So, while everyone was waiting and contemplating whether Disney was going to offer it again this year, we had the comfort of knowing we had our Free Dining already booked a year in advance. Hope that helps.

The bounce back offer is usually a "sandwich board" style advertisement that is on one of the tables in your room when you arrive. It offers you a specific discount if you call before you check out from your current stay, and book (and place a $200 deposit on) a future visit during a specific period of time.

Last summer, we stayed during the free dining promotion. The bounceback offer on our table was for free dining in 2010. I called, and made our 2010 reservations, and place my $200 deposit, and didn't have to worry all year whether free dining would be offered or not, because I was already booked for it.

Bounceback offers are not mailed, emailed, or otherwise delivered to your home, they are ONLY available to guests staying at a Disney Resort, and you MUST call and make the reservation, from your room phone, BEFORE you check out of the resort.

Hope that clears things up for you!

What was great about last years' bounce back was that we got to bounce back on the 2009 free dining rules for a 2010 trip. That means I booked Pop Century with 1 day passes and still got free dining (with the Table Service meals).

Much better than what was actually offered to the public.

I never knew about this. Good to know. Thank you for asking and answering this question.

Since you said you have it a year in advance, does that mean they let you book it for a date 12 months later? I just left a couple of weeks ago and the bounce back offer was only good through 12/23/10. I called and asked if I could book it for our next June trip or if they could let me rebook for next year with free dining (b/c that is what we had currently) and they said they couldn't do that.
Did you have a different offer or how did you get to book it for a year out? They also told me that since it was a room discount I could book it but that when the discount expired in Dec. they would remove the discount from my reservation. I told them I would just watch for the summer deals to come out as I usually do.
Any ideas?

The bounceback offers are not always for a year later. The first time we went it was early August, BEFORE the fall free dining period. We had an offer in our room for a bounceback with free dining, but it was for later that same year, I believe it was sometime in October.

However, typically, people who are in Disney World during the fall free dining promotion get a bounceback offer for the fall free dining for the FOLLOWING year, meaning that they can book 12 months out.

Sadly, much like the pin codes that are sent out to select families, you get what you get. If the bounceback offer you get is for later that same year, then that is the only option for you. For those staying during free dining though, it is likely that they'll get the offer for the following summer, or at least that is what has been offered in past years.

disEAR, and 2princes'mom, you are both most welcome! I am glad that I was able to help. It wasn't all that long ago that I was on here asking questions every day, and having no clue what I was doing while trying to plan our first family trip to Disney. It is a GREAT feeling two years later to be able to answer questions for others!
