What is $86/pt for SSR promo?

We're new to this board and have been reading about DVC. We just got back from WDW and did an open house for SSR. We are seriously considering purchasing and didn't get the same figures when we talked with our rep. I'm wondering if someone could explain what kind of promo this $86/pt is? With the buy back of first year points our figures were around $95/pt? Thank you in advance.

The $86/pt is a promotion with a DVC member referral. You can get $15 off per point when you purchase at least 150 SSR points by January 20, 2007. All you need is a member referral. There are many here who would be happy to have you use their name to buy.

This promotion is really a good deal and they are including 2006 points for only paying one month MF. This may expire soon.

Generally when you buy through Disney you will get current use year points to use or bank. Its almost like getting a full year worth of points at no charge, almost. So for example if you bought today and Disney says that your UY month will be March.......so every March 1 you get a new alotment of points. So back to buying today, now more than likely Disney will give you 2006 points, what ever amount you buy, right away. If you purchase 150- points you will get 150 points now and another 150 on March 1st. The Maintenance fees, you would just have to pay for December. MF run calendar year....not like our UY. Now if you purchase in January the deal may or may not be different. But keep reading this board, its a wealth of info that helped us through our purchase. Also keep in mind that there are some months that are not UY months....not sure which, March could be one of them.

Wow that sounds great! We were going to wait until about March or April before we purchased but with this incentive now would be a better time. I didn't realize that Disney picked your UY month. How does that work? I thought your UY would be the month that you purchased.

Crazycajuns4disney, I don't believe that you would have to use the same guide. We were referred by a friend in California and we have different guides. If by chance you decide you need a referral, my husband and I would be happy to pass it on.
