What Irritates you about DLP?

We were at DLP last week. We were walking on to the Phantom Manor when something caught my eye. There was some sort of drain and a mother was allowing her child around aged 6 to urinate down there. Now DLP have loads of toilets which are easily found. Port Aventura have one set per land, so I was disgusted to spy this child being allowed to do it as I am very anal about people doing it in public. I also noticed someone doing it at Port Adventura and I made a point to the mother at that time.

What bothers you?

What irritates me is the way some folk - and no nationality is exempt here - push and shove and generally have no queuing etiquette. It's so annoying when most folk wait patiently for their turn and some idiot decides they aren't going to wait and shoves in where they can.

There are toilets next to Pantom Manor so there is no excuse for that kind of behaviour - disgusting!

Smoking is my biggest peeve - a few times when we've been waiting for a parade or a show someone has sparked up a cigarette, even though people are all close together and there are lots of babies and children around. I can't wait for the no smoking policy to take effect.

We were waiting in our hotel to see Mickey and all these children kept pushing in front and these ones came running along the corridor and pushed in front of dd. Mickey stuck his hand up and brushed them aside and pulled dd over to him, signed the books and then posed for photo's and kept telling me to take more as I reckon he'd had enough too and wanted to make them wait.

Exactly we used the loo's before going on PM.

As non smokers we hate going abroad. Especially with the smoking ban in Scotland now the disneyland hotel was minging with all the smoke. The only place that was ok to breathe in was our room.

I hate the smoking and how people hold there cigarettes at the level of a child's face. However this is not just a problem we encounter at DLP, for a example my self and dd are waiting for a bus or a train someone will sit on the spare seat next to us and start to have a cigarette even though we were sat there first.

The same for me! And I hate when people smoke in the queue while it is forbidden, and people throwing waste everywhere in the park except the trash bins :furious:

I realise that the smoking and queue jumping are (understandably) common grumbles about DLP, but to be fair to the place these can happen in other places too.

So is there anything that irritates you, that you can only find or do at DLP - or is the place otherwise perfect!! :teeth:

The only thing that irritates me is that I don't live there. ;)

But honestly, I suppose it's quite irritating that such a beautiful Disney resort still has such major financial problems. The ugliness of lots of Disney Village irritates me too, especially the area between Newport Bay Club and The Steakhouse.

The main thing that irritates me is the pushing and shoving when a character appears. It wouldn't take much for them to organise an orderly queue so everyone can get a turn.My DD wont go near the characters now if there is too many people, as she got pushed out of the way by a french woman who wanted her daughter to get an autograph. My DD was only 5 at the time and was a bit upset.

We tend to do the Character meals now.

A thing that irritates me is people being rude to the cast members.
Because they work in the Magic they cant do magic.
Even by the littlest problem the CM get a big mouth and people AND children insolve them

How do you all think about teenagers hitting the characters?

I think they should have a special Disney Toon police which follow the Characters around, then if they see any misdemeanours should be able to grab them and put them in the stocks in front of City Hall and let people throw wet sponges at them :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

My vote too :thumbsup2

I thought the characters generally had a 'minder' with them to prevent some charmless article pulling at the costume? Each time I've seen one of the characters other than in the parades say, there's always been someone 'human' alongside them.

May be they also could include obnoxious children and parents too!!!!

1) Disorganisation - many times we encountered lines being unorganised. The CM would literally pace around while people were shuving and pushing kiddies away to get to the characters. When the CM should say thats enough and line appropriately.
2) Smoking. Even as a smoker I do not believe in free smoke around public places. Its common courtesy not to light up in lines. But at DLP no one understands that :confused3
3) Hurrendous prices for merchandise and food. I could not believe how expensive it was and how rubbish the burgers were at Disney. We paid alot for these, yet they tasted like a cheap cheeseburger you would buy of a street vendor. Disgusting
4) Rude CM. Many times I encoutered the CM speaking in english to Spanish etc, but when I came up they made out they could not speak it. Not that I am condoning my sheer ignorance to learn how to speak French, but it was the sheer lie that did it for me. My sons were hurt by many of the staff slamming into him, with no care.

Its not all that bad, but these are the ones that are a bug bear of DLP. Perhaps we should add a positive to this list as well.

Not really irritating really but I'm not that keen on the show you get when ordering a bottle of wine.

First I have to read the label pretending I know French, then its opened and I have to pretend again I know what I'm tasting.

Then even if it was nasty (not happned yet luckily) I'd approve the choice and take the bottle as it just seems rude not to. :rotfl2:
