what info do you get before signing agreement/contract?

I know the minimums for the escape/wishes packages and have read many of the posts on the budget board. How much pricing info do you get to see before signing an agreement or contract? I CAN meet the 12000, but I want to know what I am going to get for it before I agree to, based on what I want, not based on others' budgets, although they have been very helpful.

How does the process go of first contacting disney for info, getting a planner and a date, signing an agreement and then contract?

What exactly is the agreement? I figured out it at least means you intend to have your wedding there, but does that come with a deposit and can you still back out between agreement and contract?

Finally, for now at least, how far out do you have to choose between escape and wishes? Can I change to escape if I end up with a lot of declines (I'm thinking no) and can I upgrade to wishes if I start out on escape and then have more than 30 people? My budget will be about the same regardless, it's just all about how to allocate it. How do you get an idea of how many people will come before you even get your date?

Sorry for all the questions. I spent the past 2 days looking at the wedding section trying to find the info myself. Thanks for any help.

Hi,
When you first contact DFTW its just an operator who makes some basice information (date of wedding and place in mind)and they then assign you to Wedding Consultant. That consultant will call you when they get a chance and short conversation and as long as you date isn't one of the lottery dates and that you are in your booking period you may receive two emails...one email will have pdf's for pricing, room blocks, tickets, and some disney websites...a second email will come as soon as your event has been confirmed and that email will request the contract information...any pricing that you will need outside of the basic stuff just shoot your consultant an email and they will respond with pricing...even if its a long list of questions and pricing they will do their best to get to you what you need...as far as the agreement and the contract I want to say the are both the same think, but at first when you are contact and you tell the consultant your date they will search to find if its available then send you a confirmation letter saying the date is being held..so you could call that the agreement period...but then you have to fill out the basic information and turn it into the consultant...she will in turn send you a contract that needs to be sent back signed and with a deposit...this all can take about two weeks...so you could realistically back out during that time period...you have to choose if you want escape/wishes intially, but I suppose you can change it at your leisure....HTH...

The $12k that you would need to meet for a wishes wedding is a minimum expenditure, meaning all the elements you choose for your wedding day need to add up to that amount. This includes things like flower (which there is no set example price they provide you with, it's based on what you choose for flowers/linens/etc...), food and beverages, the ceremony venue fee, transportation, entertainment and any extras.

Disney fairy tale wedding will send you a sample pricing sheet based on how many guests you're planning on inviting when you first contact them but when I saw he one they sent me it was for 50 guests and the total was something like $28k!!! I knew I could do it for less.

You will get sample menus, photography/videography pricing, transportation sample pricing, and an idea of how much you'll need to spend but there's so many ways to bring down the price or pad it. If you're planning on spending $12k whether it's escape of wishes then I would jut go wishes no matter how many people are coming. You'll get to customize your wedding to exactly what you want while the escape packages are a set thing with no reception included.

There's really no time period between agreement and contract. You'll get an email that your date is being held and then in a day or two you'll get your letter of agreement emailed to you. You'll fill it out, sign it and send it back with your deposit, which for a wishes wedding it $2000.

Thanks so much everyone! The only reason I would consider the escape with $12000 is I wouldn't mind using an outside florist. I would use an outside photographer regardless.

I think I will call tomorrow then!

FYI, depending on where you have your ceremony and reception, you may be required to use Disney vendors.
