What in the world is going on in January?

My sisters birthday is January 20th. She wants to stay at the GC. I put in check in Jan 19, for 1 day. $788! PPH was $480 I changed the check in day to checking in Jan 20th for 1 day and it went back down to
$355 . Anyone know what is going on mid week mid month in January that would skyrocket the prices like that? I understand that MLK Jr birthday is the 18th but that's a Monday so I THOUGHT any days off would be over by then.

No idea that's why I'm asking. I did check the Events at the Convention center, and the NAMM convention is going on until the 17th. Maybe they are expecting lots of people to hang around. I may have to go the week before or the 13th We'll see

I just plugged in the 19th for GCH and it came up with $355...
