What if you used more than $1,000 on a Disney Gift Card?

Given the average cost of any Disney vacation, they really need to bump up the limit on these cards to more than $1,000.

Maybe there is a reason they can’t - banking laws, money-laundering laws, etc.?

Been there. During Hurricane irma we were canceled. While I used my credit card, my daughter used gift cards. Exactly what you’re talking about. It took a call to dcl by Beth from DU to straighten it out. My daughter would load $1000, pay, and repeat. So Beth got a print out from dcl to find what cards got what amount. While my daughter used a one main card, she used some ecards and Disney rewards. She was told to transfer the money off the main card to a new card and once she did, our TA called dcl and they loaded the missing funds to that card. She had about 7 cards, main card and miscellaneous pieces of cards. Every card got the exact amount that was on it. Boy we learned a lot in September 2017, and it sure helps now. She will never exceed $1000 per card again and will keep better notes. It was frustrating for sure.
