What if ToonTown became Zootopia

Before you all start flaming me, this is NOT a rumor. Just an idea I had. I took the kids to see Zootopia this weekend and we all thought it was a great film with lots of good characters. I think children would love to see at Officer Hops and Nicholas Wilde at the parks. Not only that, but could ToonTown be changed from the style of the 25 year old film it was based on to match some of the scenes from Zootopia? I honestly think the film could become a strong franchise if Disney did it right.

I'm not entirely sure ToonTown is the place to do it. It could be done where Bug's Land is, though I'd really hate to lose that area. But hey, it's just a thought, right?

Please stop giving them ideas like that.

The concept of getting rid of two AMAZING areas (OK TT isn't my fave, but come on, it's Mickey etc) for a movie that just came out????

They were there yesterday.
I didn't see them listed in the app for today, so I wasn't sure if they had made it to DCA yet. That's great news for Zootopia fans!

I think the hardest part about creating a new area based on a current movie is that by the time they've finished building the area, the movie is going to be a year or two old at least. While it's popular when the movie comes out, I think it's harder to predict whether it'll have lasting power. It's hard to build anything to be ready with the movie (plus it's risky because no one knows how well a movie will do). I guess, I'd rather wait a see if a movie will last/endure before building something, be it a whole land or attraction, based on the movie. A character meet and greet is an easy alternative at this point.

Toon Town needs updating, a new ride or entertainment, or something. But I don't really see a need to change theming. It's not really based on Roger Rabbit. You have the RR ride, but there's also Gadget's Go Coaster and Chip and Dale's Tree House, both from the 90s cartoon. Then you have Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy's houses. There's not a lot to do there, but it is a nice place to meet Mickey. I wish they'd do something with it, but not replace it.

I wouldn't be opposed to a different theme for Bugsland at DCA, so long as the new area had at least as many kid rides as are currently available. I suppose it could have a few fewer rides as long as they were higher quality rides and the overall capacity didn't decrease.

we saw Officer Hops and Nick Wilde at DCA while on spring break. Fun Movie. Chilldren Loved it.

I would love some more Zootopia love around the parks, but people are STILL mad about toontown going missing in WDW, to have it wiped out in both Stateside parks would not be the right idea. Lol.

We go to DL once a month and have been for at least 10 years. I think I've been in ToonTown twice... maybe... I would love to visit Zootopia! They could even return it to it's Videopolis state and have Gazelle concerts every night.

I used to hate Toontown. Then I had children. I have spent so much time there, I now appreciate it. I would hate to see it changed. I enjoy Bugs Land with my youngest. I haven't seen Zootopia, but I would love to see more of it in the parks.

When I first saw TT it struck me as a land they could re-theme on a regular basis (painted rocks?). I still think that's what they should do to it and keep the area fresh and inviting even to regulars.

I like the IDEA of toontown but it hasn't been kept up the way it should have been. I think they need to retheme some of the houses or something, get everything working again and maybe add a new attraction. I thought zootopia was "meh" to be quite honest. I adore everything they've put out but this one I sorta left feeling flat. I just can't see that movie being big enough to take over toontown and I REALLY don't want to see Bugs Land go anywhere. Interesting thought.
