You stated that you would not be available yesterday as you were going to DL - did you stop by the sales office to start your paperwork?

I'll second asking for a new guide. Either your current one is unresponsive, or has too much on his plate, and both are good reasons for switching. The hard part is getting the name of a guide you want to switch to. If you have that, it should be an easy matter of calling the new guide, and telling them that you want to switch to them. DVC has policies in place to allow it...we did it when we visited DL a few weeks ago, and have been totally happy we did.

I did! Poor kids- no rides. We did not start the paperwork, but did meet our guide in person and express our concerns. DH is finally "sold" on DVC and might even be almost excited. Ssshh!

We still need to haggle out UY. The guide said no incentives if we bought December. So I need him to verify October for me... As well as confirm the free cruise dates. The value of the cruise is more than the additional cash. If Thansgiving week 2010 is not blacked out for the 3 day it is a great option for us. We'll see!

Feeling much closer to signing and making my ressie!

The UY does not make any difference to incentives so I'm not certain what the guide was talking about. I'm sorry but I don't recall where you are looking at buying but am guessing GCV. In the case of GCV the only difference with UY's is that Feb, Mar and April will not be receiving 2009 points - only June thru Dec UY's, but that means no difference between Dec and Oct. If December is what you want then you should be able to get it, and the same incentives, unless they actually sold out of that UY. This would be the first I heard of that though.

If it's BLT your looking at then all the UY's receive 2009 points and again - there's no difference in incentives.

I'm glad your finally getting somewhere though!

Guess what??? No call...and he's off Fri-Sat-Sun!!
SO when will I be able to make a ressie?? My 7 month window opens next Wed. I was hoping to reserve before that opens so I can get in at Kidani. Not like haventbeen trying to get to this point for 2 solid weeks now! And I thought going through Disney would be fast!

The good news, however, is that you can request your Guide (when you speak to him next week) make a reservation for you for the particular time you want as part of your deal. They are sometimes able to work "magic" like this and help out folks who are wanting something reserved right away. Congratulations!

If you can get your guide on Monday or Tuesday to make your reservation then you will still have that HR priority booking advantage over every other non-AKV owner who may call for a reservation at AKV on Wednesday which is date 7 month window opens for them for check-in date of Nov.15 2009.

Usually (don't want to tell you it's 100% guaranteed but I haven't heard of this not being able to be done) your guide can make your ressie upon deposit, which you've already made via cc, and especially if you're trying to get this ressie made while still within your Home Resort's priority booking window (which would end on Tuesday if, as your post stated, the 7 month booking window begins on Wednesday) so be sure to let guide know this is what you'd like to accomplish.

I would call your guide on Monday and if you don't get a hold of him, call the main DVC number and tell them you need your member # so that you can make a reservation but your guide is off.

When I added on, the points were in my account within 2 hours. I would think if you put down the deposit on Thursday, then you have a member # already and your contract is in the works.

I called him today, he said he'd make the ressie for us. Of course I asked him to call back and confirm with me that he was able to obtain what we wanted (2 bedroom Kidani savanna view) and he didn't yet, but hopefully tomorrow! He had already looked at inventory and said it didn't look like it would be a problem.

I'll relax way more once I know it's in the system! Then I can really celebrate.
