What if people were only as cool as their shoes? Dec09 TR. last hours at Disney pg19

Just wanted to mention that I love your new trip title. The other one was good, but it kinda reminded me of high school... The boys use to some how squirt saliva out of their mouth and they called it yanging... :lmao: It was gross, well it would be gross now too, so not much has changed. But every time I read the old one I would think of that. Even though I knew that wasn't what you were talking about.

Looking forward to reading more. popcorn::

Everything OK, Ty?? Just wondering what's going on in your world...

Hey sweetie we got a ton of snow and no power, it's finally back on and I'm getting warm. We got Dan a snowblower this time he's been out trying to dig out the whole neighborhood and having a blast, boys and their toys!!!:rotfl2: Hope your not buryed we got right at 30 inches:scared1: and I am definitely not going to work on Sunday they haven't plowed our street yet and once they do we will have to dig out again:eek:. I miss FLORIDA and DISNEY:love::love:!!!!!

Finally got through all the pages, I think the TR is great TY and I'm glad to hear that the leg and foot are better now. Keep going I'll check back a little later.
Thank you for reading, and I'm glad you are liking it. Yes, the leg is so much better now.

I've done the couples only trip to WDW with a hubby that is humouring me and my love for Disney before. Might I second the opinion that afternoon naps *ahem* are the way to go. I was happy just being at WDW and Dh was happy because he was ... let's say "well rested".
Well rested? That's what we're calling it now? I remember back in the day when it was called "doing the taxes" :lmao:

Oh my goodness, I am soooooooo behind. I'm sorry I've neglected you!

I just love your ying yang neclaces. How freaking cool! I am going to have to get them when I GO IN DECEMBER! Yep, you heard correct. We are going. All 5 of us! I am so excited. But this isn't about me, it is your report.

Back to the show.

I was getting all teary eyed reading how your mother reacted to Soarin. First timers are great, specially when it's your mom!

Your poor leg, oh my goodness. When I saw it I felt bad for you. Then I laughed, uncontrollably. Just because you did!! I swear I was there with you listening to you laugh your head off.

I will try to keep up!! I'm not slacking, just busy with school!!
I know you're not neglecting me, school is very important.

DECEMBER? YOu get to go in december? Awesome! are you going to go to MVMCP? I want t o change my trip dates and go in Dec just so I can finally meet you. Are you going to do a PTR? or at least a TR when you get back?

Mom really loved soarin, she wants to go back in 2012, we're looking at January, it's a ways off but Mom said all she can do is think about Disney, I told her this would happen, she didn't believe me, but we both have addictive personalities, I knew 1 trip would not be enough for her, actually I was banking on that!:rolleyes1.

I still laugh when I look at that picture of my foot, :lmao: it just looks like a cartoon foot or something.

Hey Ty! I have fallen behind on my DIS'ing. I decided it was high time I got my butt (and the rest of me) back to school. So with school, work & family life, the DIS has been on the back burner. I am caught up and still laughing and loving my way thru your report!
Back in school? Way awesome! What are you studying? I plan to go back once Reese graduates, she's a sophomore so I have some time yet.

I am really enjoying your TR! Can't wait for more! popcorn:::surfweb:
Thank you, I will be updating soon.

Yea, I wasn't feeling my old TR title, it needed to change. I never knew the spitting that the boys did was called yanging, back in my day they called it gleaking. I know, boys!:confused3

Everything OK, Ty?? Just wondering what's going on in your world...

All is well in Ty's world! I just had a case of the winter blues, didn't feel like doing much of anything, funny how a snow storm can bring me out of the blues though huh?

I'm with Liesa. What's happening Ty? I want more TR! :worship:
I will be updating super soon. Thanks for hanging in there.

We got about 30 inches too, we are pretty much dug out, the farmers plowed this road but it's still pretty nasty. My car is still buried but I won't need it till Tuesday so I'm not all that worried about it.
A snowblower would have been nice, Kent just shoveled for hours, but he likes being outside so he never complains.

I think I left off somewhere around the swollen foot fiasco.

After I was all bandaged up and Janis had her ring, we decided to continue on with our exploration of the countries.

Before I left Japan I went into one o fthere little shops outside and I bought some candy, it was kind of like starburst but it had little gummy like balls in it and once you bit into it it would release some fizzy stuff, there was alot going on for just one little piece of candy, I knew I needed to get more for the kids before I left Disney for good.

We slowly made our way to America, we stopped in for the show, I had seen it on my last trip and loved it. Mom is a big Us History buff, so I knew she would like it too.

We had a few minute wait, the singers were just wrapping up there show and we got to hear a little of it, we said we would come back again on our next Epcot day just to hear them.

We got seats roughly in the middle and settled in to watch the show, right before it started a tall dude wearing a hat came and sat right infront of me, I had no luck in this departement the whole week, if there was going to be a hat wearing dude, he was going to sit right infront of me, story of my life. It's rude to not take your hat off in doors anyway, didn't his mother teach him anything?

I leaned over and rested my head on mom's shoulder I could see better now.

Did I mention I love this show? and the music with it is so pretty, I fell asleep once, it was just so relaxing but I didn't sleep through much.

When it was over we exited, (duh!) and decided to save the rest of the countries for our next Epcot day, we still walked all around but we didn't stop to look in any shops anymore.

I called Kent and asked if he wanted to keep me company while I walked the rest of the way around the world, he was up for it. Marzi called Mario (her DH) and they did the same, everytime I would cross into another country Kent would say "That was quick."

By the time we made it to Canada I was ready to leave and go back to the resort, I didn't say anything to anybody, they all seemed to be having a great time, but I was so tired.

We gathered and regroupled and tried to come up with a plan, I had pretty much thrown my plans out the window andhad been winging this trip since day 2, so I suggested maybe we go see Honey I shrunk the audience, they were up for that.

we headed over and the next show wasn't going to be ready for another 15 minutes so we went to Figments imagination ride, it was cute, if I had kids I would do that ride again, but I was a little bored with it.

When it was over the kodak place was super busy every little attraction they had was covered in kids so we didn't stay long even though I wanted to create a musical masterpiece!

We then went next door, the place was fillingup and people were laying and sitting on the floor, I knew they were going to tell everybody to stand so I didn't even bother trying to sit down, there was a family behind us, I'm not sure where they were from but they didn't speak any English, the parents let their kids run wild in that place, the little girls maybe 8 and 9 were doing summersaults on the floor and crashing into people, I stepped to the side to avoid being hit, but sure enough a few minutes later one kid came crashing into my leg, my bad leg, I was pissed and it hurt like crazy! I glared at teh parents and told them to hold onto their kids, of course they didn't understand me but they did say something to their girls, they quit doing summersaults but then started jumping up in the air and trying to mess up their dads hair, we all know that the holding room for us before going into the actual show is on a slant, so every time the girls would jump up they would come down and stumble forward and crash into me or somebody else, the paretns didn't care, so I finally moved behind them, you'd think we would be save there, but no, the dad kept picking one o fthe girls up and swinging her around, she ended up kicking my mother in the arm, I had had enough of it by then so I yelled at the parents, "That is enough, no more!!!" They looked at me like I was crazy.

My patience was super thin by now and I just wanted to leave, I didn't even want to stay for the show, and I was ticked off that the damn Kodak commercial seemed to be going on for hours. Fianlly we get to go into the theater, we got nice seats in the middle and close to the front, but best of all, we were no where near that family.

The show was fun, it made me laugh in all the right places and scream at all the other right places, the show is a bit out dated but still fun. Mom and Janis really liked it too.

When the show was over we only had an hour to kill before we could use our fastpasses for soarin. We were hungry and had decided to go find something to eat, Electric Umbrella sounded good to everybody, but we also decided that once we ate we wanted to leave, we were all tired, so we looked for a family to give our fastpasses to. I just love it when you pass the magic to somebody and they are so excited and happy, well the people we found to give our fastpasses to were not like that, we are like, "Here's some fast passes for Soarin."
They took it and looked at it and said very nonchalant, cool! and kept walking. Now I don't need to be made a big deal over, I don't even need to be thanked (although it would be nice) but I really wanted to see somebody get all excited about there fast pass fortune for Soarin. If somebody gave me a fast pass for soaring I would be dancing happy and crazy,
:dance3::woohoo::cool1: "I got a fast pass, yea, yeah, yeah , yeah.....YEAH!"

Oh well, we headed over to the Electric Umbrella, of course Mom called it the Electric Umbershoot.

The place was empty, we had it all to ourselves, no line to wait in and order our food, but yet it still took us a long time, when there are 4 woman waiting to order food, we all say out loud what we want to eat, then we hear what the other is having so we change our mind cause their food sounds like more fun, then we all change our minds on dessert, so I had to send Mom and Janis to sit down, I had their order and this way we would not all be changing our minds.

We got hamburgers, chicken strips, fries and strawberry shortcake for dessert. I like this place, the food is pretty good for being a quick service place, and I like that we have quite a few choices on the menu, but not enough to make it too hard to decide what I want.

We eat slow, we linger on dessert and sip the soda like we had all the time in the world, which really we did, we had no place to be at all, we had done alot already, it was time to just go relax.

With late lunch early dinner over we tossed our trash and left the Electric Umbershoot.

On our way out I saw this little ball.
alldis09068.jpg

It was so cute, dontcha think? I played with it a bit, tossed it up in the air, kicked it around for a while, then put it back where I found it.

There wasn't a line at all for the buses, we did wait about 15 minutes for a bus, but at least it wouldn't be crowded.

On the bus Mom talked about going to the pool, But Marzi didn't bring a swim suit and I wasn't about to let my leg be seen by innocent people. That could have scarred somebody for life, Kids would be running to their mothers crying, people shouting, "It's a monster, ruuuuunnnn!!":scared1:

So the pool idea was out, I did say I would go down and sit by the pool with Mom if she wanted to swim, but she changed her mind and decided a nap sounded better.

Once we were back to Pop we had to go through the gift shop, we always had to go through the gift shop, it was mandatory for us! I saw a lot of things I wanted to buy, but kept putting it off, I was getting good at that.

We left empty handed and went to our room, oh, it felt so good to lay down,
I didn't want to sleep, I just wanted to rest. So Marzi and I just made small talk while Janis did a puzzle book and Mom rearranged the stuff in her suitcase. I have no idea how we even got on the topic of full moons, but that's what we were talking about when Marzi looked up and saw Mom bent over, "Talk about a full moon, Mom is showing hers to everybody."

Mom stands up quick, "Are you talking about my butt? are you saying it's big?"

Marzi is laughing, "No, just full."

Mom pretended to act hurt, "well, I never."

Janis is laughing now, "Oh I'm sure you have."

Mom said, let's get the topic off my butt and onto something else."

I asked why it was called a full moon anyway? Janis said probably because a butt is big and round like a full moon, Well Marzi starts laughing really hard, and says, "Then mine is a new moon, there's nothing there at all."

Mom finished up her organizing and sat on the bed and the conversation went from one thing to the next, for a bit inspecter Gadget was the topic, so was snow tubing, baby rabbits, cemeteries and playing marbles with gumballs at the mall. it was a random evening.

Around 7ish I got a shower and put on my jammies, then waited for Marzi, we then went down to the pop shop for our evening hot chocolate by the pool, we also went through the gift shop again, I found a Penn State mickeymouse pin, so I bought it, Kent loves Penn state and now I had found the perfect souvenir for him, I called him and told him what I got for him and he said he would wear it on his hat when we took our trip to Disney. He brought our trip up alot, I was starting to believe it would happen.

Marzi and I sat by the pool sipping our hot chocolate, her mom called her so they talked a bit and then Marzi handed the phone to me, I talked to her mom for a few minutes, she was so excited for me and Marzi, and she told me how Marzi was always trying to find me, and the day that I had found Marzi she had called her mom and cried, and the ironic thing is that same day one of Marzi's moms friend from highschool had found her, it's like it was find your BFF day. I hung up with her Mom and Marzi and I just continued on with catching up, just when we thought we had said it all there was more to say.

Around 10:00pm we went back to the room, Mom and Janis were asleep, we brushed our teeth and climbed into bed, a few minutes later all hell broke lose.

We heard the neighbors door slam and things being thrown around, then plain as day, like they were in the same room as us we heard a man yell, "Don't you ever undermine me infron of your parents again."

And the woman yells, "Don't you ever grab onto me like that in front of my parents again."

"I didn't GRAB onto you, I held onto your elbow to stop you from walking away from me."

"Why did you have sto stop me at all?

"Because I knew you were going to spend more money, you are spending way too much and it's only our first day here."

"We budgeted for this, what is the problem?

"You made me look like a schmuck in front of your dad."

"No, you did that all on your own."

Then we hear somebody else banging and shouting to shutup in there, so the people quit yelling but were still talking pretty loud, they fought for quite some time, he was pissed that she even invited her parents to go on this trip, she was pissed that he was acting like an @ss. HE said she spends too much money and he feels all he does is work for it and all she does is spend it the minute he makes it, she then told him to leave, he said fine he would but he is taking the car and going back to Georgia and she would have to find her own way home. She said she had her credit card, and he must have taken it from her because we heard her screaming give it back, the he said he paid for the trip and if anybody was going to leave it would be her, and he through her out of the room, her paretns room was on the other side of our room, we were in a family argument sandwhich, her parents let her into their room and we could hear her telling her paretns what happened and she embelished alot, she said he wqas cussing her and calling her names, but we never heard that. The her husband comes banging on the door, when they answer he yells, here's your stuff, the girls Dad tried to calm then down and it only got worse. "
I told Marzi this was the saddes thing, here they are at Disney world, the happiest place on earth and they are both so unhappy, I couldn't listen anymore, Marzi covered her head with her pillow and tried to go to sleep, I got my mug and went down to the pop shop for some hotchocolate, I changedmy mind when I got there and got a soda instead, then I went out by the pool and called Kent, we talked till midnight then I decided things should be quiter by now so I went back to the room. The neighbors lights were still on and I could hear them talking just low murmurs I couldn't hear what they were saying so I was guessing they were finally calm and working it out.

I just can't imagine having a fight like that while on vacation, especially at Disney, unfortunately that was not the last time they fought.

I crawled into bed and plugged into the rain white noise maker, sleep came fast and easy.

I can't even imagine having to listen to that argument. It would have made me very uncomfortable. :sad2:

It was uncomfortable, I know the walls are thin, before they got there we could hear the other neighbors, they had a little toddler and he was spry! but this new set of neighbors either didn't know that the walls are paper thin, or they didn't care, but I felt bad for them and when I saw them the next day I couldn't even look at them in their face because I felt like I knew personal stuff about them that I shouldn't know.

I sure wouldn't want to be part of that family!! Too bad you had to sit through the whole argument. Those walls sure are thin :sad2:

It happens to the best of us. Even on one of my trips with my older stepsister and stepdad came with us. My stepsister spent most of the time complaining about her relationships and how she doesn't have any money. Then, when we were at the Poly Luau of all places, my sister (aka Bubba) had had enough. She left the table during our meal, tears streaming down her face. She just couldn't take it anymore. Looking back, I feel terrible for her. At the time, I had sided with my stepsister. :sad2: Nobody should cry or be upset in Disney! It's just not the time or place. The trip just wasn't the same after that. At least now I know who NOT to travel with!

I'm one that hurts for people like that and hate to hear it cause it upsets me, I want to fix it but know I can't and it will bother me. Then there are the parents who don't control their kids and let them hurt others, good for you saying something I don't understand people who have no consideration for others, and hat guy would have heard it from me that is just plain rude. Keep up the updates really enjoying the walk around epcot brings back great memories thank you!!!

I know just what you mean. I've been feeling the same way lately. Feb through most of March I fight feeling this way. At least I have Disney to focus on to keep my mind busy, with all the planning I'm bound to have something good to think about.
It really bummed me out and mad me happy all at the same time to see flowers out for our garden the other day in Costco....I mean really....why tempt us when we can't put them out yet. :confused3 Good prices too.

Sorry you had to hear the arguing, we had noisy neighbors the third night we were at the POP. They got in late and were tired but wired because it was their first night in Disney. :goodvibes I was very happy when we didn't hear them the rest of the trip. They probably stayed in a cheaper place first night since they got in late, (which makes sense) and then moved to a mod or delux the rest of the trip.
I'm glad your doing OK, I wondered how you were fairing with the snow, good to know your use to it and aren't worried about it.

Thanky you for the update, can't wait to hear more!!! :woohoo:

:( Hearing stories like that make me all the more thankful for my relationship. So sad, for them and for you guys who had to listen to it.
Other than the argument, it sounds like a great night in the room! Those are the best conversations, the random silly school girl stuff. Love it.
I just found out my trip crew is expanding, as my brother and his wife and possibly my dad are going to go to. It's exciting, but stressfull having to change my plans now. But, it will be fun.
So glad to have another update from you! :goodvibes

I love your quiet private times where you snuck out by yourself to get a hot cocoa to sit by the pool. I can't think of a better place to slip away and just think. :thumbsup2

I am sick that you had to hear that! You know they knew everyone could hear them, but regardless, it's sad that people fight that way at all. If they were arguing there, I can't help but to think they must be fighting a lot at home in normal circumstances too. After a while it must just be habit.

Hope you are getting some good rest on that leg this evening!! I know you had a lot more planned for hte next day :)

Between last night and tonight, I've read your whole report!!! Sounds like you had a great trip, making awesome memories!!!

I can't wait to read the rest, and hear how your birthday went!

You picked a great TR for your first post!!! :cool1:

Yes I have (sorta) started a pretrip report. We will see how good I do keeping up on it.

Don't go changing your plans just in case things don't go my way. Though I would LOVE to meet you too. It's on my bucket list.

I doubt we will do the party. I think by that time they are doing the party parade anyway. This is a serious budget trip!! I'm packing bologna!! No bread!

Or maybe just bread, no bologna. Growing tomatoes this summer to make the ketsup.
