What if it rains?

What if you made all these plans to do stuff certain days, PSs, itineraries, etc then it pours the entire day? Does it every rain an entire day in FL or just about an hour for a T-storm?

Generally it doesn't rai all day - just passing showers. I almost prefer it when it does rain though. A lot of guests head for the hills and I don my Mickey poncho and continue on my merry way. :rolleyes1

Put on a poncho and carry-on. The only plans that we have ever changed due to rain was a swim break because the pool closed.

We have always gone in the summer and it has rained daily on all of our trips- usually short showers but sometimes huge down pours. We carry inexpensive disposable ponchos, use them when necessary, and discard them at the end of the day. I purchase the ponchos in the camping section at Wal Mart. We prefer the disposable because they are compact and easy to carry and then can be thrown away rather than hung up to dry out.

When we were there in October 2004, it rained a lot. Our first full day in the park it rained from about 10am to 8pm. Was quite a bummer. Since your trip is an adult trip, it might not be so bad. But unfortunately, our kids got miserable in the rain, so we had to head back to the resort. That was our AK day. We tried to do a make-up day on our last day at WDW for AK, but it rained again. And not just rain.....DOWNPOURS!

It definitely happens, unfortunately there are no guarantees. Be prepared that it might happen (maybe have an alternate weather plan) and just go with the flow.

I second what kandmwedding said. The showers are pretty brief and it could rain at KM, let's say, but not effect EPCOT or DTD in another part of the World. The only MAJOR storms that have affected our plans came later at night, liek after 7. It has only ruined Wishes and Spectro for us. We just went back to the resort or DTD. One year we went during their unusally rainest week of the year basically. One day it rained a lot...just a steady down pour stream...but then cleared up after dinner so we hit MGM and there was hardly anyone there. It fully cleared up by 8PM so we had a great night and got to see a spectacular Fantasmic in great seats.

If it was really rainy or stormy and I had a PS, I'd still go to the park for that in full poncho rain gear and enjoy a nice meal!

Even if it rains the entire day, you can have a wonderful time. You just have to be flexible. Maybe do more inside activities, or just enjoy walking and splashing through the rain. A few rides shut down for bad weather, but there is still plenty to do. Make sure to bring rain gear and extra shoes, just in case - then don't worry.

HA! I just posted on the thread about loving WDW in the rain... :)

Anytime it's rained on our trips, it didn't last the entire day. And we just keep on going and get wet! :) It's all about your attitude, just don't LET the rain ruin your plans, make the best of it! :wizard:

Check out this link to see the average precipitation by month, May is one of the lower ones. :)

During the summer the rains here are normally short and in most cases pretty powerful. While it sometimes does thin parks out. If it happens earlier in the day it's likely to stay busy, and be warned, after the rain ends and the sun comes back out, the humidity gets nearly unbearable. I'm glad I've lived down here long enough now to start getting used to it.
