Because I was also having some " server is down " ressie issues,by the time the system was working again, the times I put in and almost had, suddenly disappeared and I was left with times mostly a little too early.

I took them anyway,as it's better than not having a ressie, BUT, if DH & I show up 15-20 minutes later than our ADR states, what happens?
Do we lose our ADR completely?
Do we get a smack to the back of our heads and let in anyway?
Does it matter to some restaurants and not to others???????:confused3

You will likely have to wait longer for your table because you will be seated in the order that you arrived and checked in at the podium. Also, most people show up 10-15 minutes prior to their ADR time. Just keep checking the site for more ideal times.

I just read over the weekend about someone who ended up waiting almost 3 hours for a table at Ohana's after being late for her ressie due to a transport problem that was out of her control. SO, I'm guessing a combination of all of the above- might be fine at some places and might be a non-starter at some of the most popular places. I would just keep checking the system regularly until you can shift most of your ressies to the times you truly want :thumbsup2

We were 22 minutes late one night for Boma. Our reservation was for 8pm. We were seated at 10:20.

The CM at Boma told us that because we were more than 15 minutes late, they were putting us on "standby" and we'd just have to wait and she would not give us an estimate of how long that wait would be. This was a Saturday night in January.

Different trip, still in January though, we were 20 minutes lates to 50s PTC. We were seated within 15 minutes.

I don't believe there is a set policy. It's going to be up to the CM at the podium to determine how busy they are and how inconvenienced they will be.

It's going to depend on the restaurant, how busy it is, and what time of year you'll be going.

You're not making a reservation for a specific time; rather when you arrive you'll be put on the list for the next available table for your group size. Just because you have an ADR for 7:00 and you show up at your preferred time of 7:30 you aren't going to be seated immediately because your scheduled time has passed. Depending on the restaurant you might be put on the table list, you might now be considered a walk up or you might be turned away. We've seen all 3 options occur.

I would keep trying online to find an ADR for the time you really want and not be stressed about what happens if I choose to show up late.

At best they will seat you with a short wait. At worst they won't seat you at all. It depends on how busy the restaurant is.

What restaurants are we talking about? That can make a difference.

Wanted earlier breakfast times at Boma and Kona Cafe',a later dinner time at Artist Point and a later dinner time at Rose & Crown(so we're not sitting there over two 1/2 hours waiting for fireworks).

Sounds as if just checking the reservation page everyday is the best way to go.
Thanks to all for your help!!:thumbsup2

I think you have a good chance of breakfast at the Kona opening up. We eat there every trip, and have always gotten exactly the time I want (knock on wood!)

As far as the Rose and Crown goes, just be aware that not every table has a fireworks view. And they now will not allow you to wait for a table that will offer a fireworks view. You take the table they have for you, or you don't eat there. That is a fairly recent change, so I'm guessing they had more guests that wanted a fireworks view than they had tables for.
