What if I have to cancel a DL reservation?

I know I should know this but the older I get the more often my memory starts to 'fail'. Ah, the joy of age!!!

Do the points for a DL reservation go into 'reservation status' if I need to cancel the trip? Or will they go back as regular points, assuming I'm more than 31 days out?

Thanks Chuck, that's what I thought but I just wasn't sure.
