Ok - so here's my question. If I can't get the AP rate for my entire stay do I need to check-in again??? Does Disney make you have different reservations if some nights are AP rates and others at rack rate? For those of you who have done this before how did it work?

Just wondering. I'm still hoping to get an AP discount for my stay, but I really don't think I'll be able to get one for all 8 nights. So, I'm hoping I can get at least a few nights discounted.

Wish me luck!

This past Dec. when the new day to day pricing started we did not have to check out then back in when our price changed into holiday pricing. Disney just charged us AP rate for the first few nights then a higher holiday prices the remainder. With the AP rate applied for the first few nights it allowed us to stay 11 nights for less than the price of 8 so it can still add up and save even if just a few nights.

It depends. We checked in on May 24th with an AAA rate for two nights then on May 26th we had to check out of our room at All Star Movies and move to another room using the AP rate.
Our reservations were linked, we had to pay a deposit for AAA room only, and pay off the entire AP room package with dining. We were told we could not stay in the same room, but the room locator, who I spoke to at check-in, got us a room at 7AM the following morning, so I went to the front desk, got our new key to the world cards, then went back and rolled our luggage from one room to the other. Your experience might be different, but they are indeed two separate reservations requiring deposits on both rooms.

I think the above scenarios are different depending on if you are booking all room only or various package types.

OK, now I'm confused. I have a reservation for 8 nights at rack rate. I can get 2 of those nights at an AP rate. I just talked to a CM and he told me that it would be two, actually now 3,different reservations I would have if I apply the AP rate to the 2 nights of my stay. Therefore, I would need to "check in and check out" for the 3 different reservations. I don't know if this is worth it. My DH would kill me if we actually had to pack up our stuff those days.....I just want to stay in our room and pay less for the nights I can. AAAAAGH!!! This is driving me crazy!:headache:

You cant have differant codes on one res. AAA, AP, discount codes, rack rate all use differant codes and will have to be on differant reservations

Ok, I understand how it will be 3 different reservations, however will the hotel make me move rooms? Do they let you stay in the same room. It just doesn't seem worth it to me if they're going to make me move.....

Theyre pretty good about letting you stay in one room but there is a chance you will have to move.
