What Ideas Do You Use For Giving Your Kids Things For The Trip?

In the past I've always gotten little things for the trip for the girls to have. When they do chores they earn Disney Dollars. For Christmas I've given them gifts. I know that someone posted a coupon book with Disney Dollars. My girls want to do the pin trading. So, for Easter I think I'm going to get some pins off of ebay, and they will have an Easter egg hunt with Disney pins in the eggs. I'm not big on candy anyway.

What ideas do you have?

LOL! I was going to suggest filling plastic Easter eggs with trading pins, and having a 'Disney' themed egg hunt... as we do that too! But you beat me to it.

I also usually wrap up a few small, Disney related 'surprises' in advance of our trip... and then give those to my son periodically during our actual vacation. Sometimes it might be something like a Mickey Mouse Pez dispenser, or a special pin that he's been wanting, or a glow stick, or soap bubbles or a hand-held game (to help pass the time when waiting in lines or for parades). We are usually there during October for MNSSHP, so I usually pick up some Halloween related items as well. Receiving these small 'surprises' throughout our vacation makes it easier for DS to wait more patiently until towards the end of our trip to purchase a few choice soveniers to take home.

Last trip, we took the autotrain down from VA. I packed a few surprises in DS's overnight carry-on bag for on the train... including a new plush Dalmatian, and some Disney related activity books and travel games. The snacks I packed for him were mostly Disney character related too--its fairly easy these days to find fruit gummies and cookies and such featuring Mickey or Toy Story or other similar themes. Same sort of thing could be done when traveling by car, or even by plane I would think. It really did put DS in a Disney mood, and made the travel time fly by.
