What health procedures have you put off doing?

Shingles shot, because of the cost. But if Medicare covers, maybe I will get it.

Don't put off the shingles shot. Getting shingles is far worse than having to pay money to make sure you don't get it. I know people who've had shingles and between the excruciating pain and possible permanent nerve damage, it can really mess you up. Not to mention what can happen if you get it in your eyes.

Just a skin check at the dermatologist. I spent so much time at the hospital with different tests in preparation for my bariatric surgery, dealing with complications from it and biopsies needed to rule out cancer, I just couldn't get that one visit in.

Mammogram, annual gynecology, annual checkup…

They’re all “free” but I can’t afford the cost of the inevitable Follow ups and treatments, so I’m just letting nature run its course.
So it is cheaper to let it run its course so you have more expensive tests & treatments?

I have a finger that I'm almost certain is suffering from trigger finger. I have a splint that I bought myself and it helps but the nights I forget to put it on, I wake in with a stuck finger that hurts so bad to get straightened up. That said, I have put off scheduling an appointment with my family dr about it, and keep saying when I see her for something else I will discuss it then.

I hadn’t been to the dentist in over 20 years. Then DH and DS went on the same day and I guess I got inspired. Went and didn’t die. I’ll call that a win. Also, I started using my waterpik which had been gathering dust. Once I stopped accidentally spraying the walls and mirror, it was a nice addition to my routine.

I'd been needing to have a molar extracted after a failed root canal almost a year ago. I really, really didn't want to lose that tooth. :( I finally had it done this past Tuesday, to maximize my insurance benefits this calendar year. I talked my dear dentist into suturing up the socket so I'll be able to eat Christmas dinner.

All of them. I had children and they were priority. Every time I got a healthcare visit paid for, they had another.

Still paying for them through college so still not doing anything for myself.

I need to get my eyes checked before the end of this year to maximize benefits.... yea I have been procrastinating. It's been two years, and I need to cash in on this because I insurance only pays for frames every other year, so I am on a deadline.

Hernia repair. I had laparoscopic inguinal hernia surgery in 1993. About 5 years ago the mesh holding it in place became undone. I was scheduled to have it repaired in spring 2020 but Covid canceled all elective surgery.

It doesn’t bother me and I’m in no hurry to have it done.

None, I'm an ER nurse and spend my days taking care of people who ignore routine health maintenance, so I work hard to stay on top of it! I get bloodwork every year and see my PCP and OB/GYN yearly.
My husband however....is a typical stubborn male. That's another story......
