What have you seen on the EA? (running thread)

Arrived Oct 2nd around 11:00Am A side.
I only saw 5-6 cars available including impala and galant, no PT cruiser, no Camly. tried to settle with Galant, but RAV4 was returned so I picked it up. Again, only 5-6 cars at that time.
Actually regular immidiate car isle had more cars...

The Emerald Aisle is the intermediate aisle now.

There were two aisle. One for EA only and one for intermediate.
I thought EA reservation can pick car from either aisle and regular reservation has to go to intermediate aisle...

Correct me if I am wrong.

When I was there 2 weeks ago, the first 2 rows in the garage were intermediate, the next 2 rows were Emerald Aisle, then the next 2 rows full size. That was on B side.

Cannot say that you are wrong, I was just going by what I was told. You are most probably correct and the info I was given was/is wrong.

Where do they stuff the compacts? You know, cause I was told that the intermediate aisle was the EA now and since I took that as gospel (silly me) because it was told to me by a natiaonal employee, I never ever noticed anything but the EA sign. It makes perfect sense to have two aisles, keeping one for non EC members.

They are separate, but as you know, if you booked EA, you can still walk over to intermediate if you don't see anything that you like on EA. (whereas before the change, you could walk over to full size for the same reason.) I thought the compact aisle was to the right of the intermediate.

I'm not sure where the compacts are, I didn't walk all the way over. I guess they put their 3 most popular classes on the side where you walk in.

Another question I wondered about - where are the Alamo cars? All the signs said Alamo National. Are they sharing cars?

Well, here we go again with taking an employee's word, but, yes, I was told they share cars. Guess that is why with Alamo you can now pick your own car.

I'd like to know what people are getting. We're flying in on a Friday night at 8:30 p.m. and I'm worried.

Hi,

We rented EA (Terminal A) on (Sunday) Oct. 5th at 5:00 pm and there were (2) Toyota RAV4 , (1) PT Cruiser and (2) Mitsubitshi Outriggers along with regular passenger cars.

I picked the Green Outrigger SUV (VA Plates) as it looked to be the biggest of the small SUV that they had...we had 8 days of luggage for 4 people and it fit great in the back luggage area.

First time I saw such a great selection in the EA anywhere.

Just to make sure I understand this: EA (Emerald Aisle) is where you go if you booked an Intermediate car, right? If it so happens that there are vehicles larger than Intermediate in the aisle, then you luck out. If you book Emerald Reserve, you go to Full-size aisle, right? And that's all they have in this aisle, Full-size. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The EA is where you go if you book EA. For bookings made since sometime in late spring, this corresponds to an Intermediate booking. (I have an EA reservation for next week with Full-size indicated, but I made it back in February. If I cannot find an acceptable FS on the EA, I will choose from the FS aisle.) If you book EA, you are guaranteed at least an Intermediate, but you may find Full-size or one of the above-mentioned SUVs or other specialty vehicles available on the EA. If you book Full-size with Emerald Choice, you select from the FS aisle. Emerald Choice also applies for other sizes and types of vehicles besides FS. For example, if you book a Van, you would choose from the Van aisle. If you book a luxury car with Emerald Choice, you would choose from the luxury aisle. Both Emerald Aisle and Emerald Choice are available to Emerald Club members.

sounds like a great selection IF you like SUVs. :)

I checked the aisle at 2 pm today Terminal B.
Lots of mid sizes like Grand Ams and a mini van. Not much else.

I picked up my vehicle at just about midnight, as Thursday Oct. 9th was turning into Friday, Oct. 10th. There were three PT Cruisers (I got one- HOORAY!!!), two full-sized pick-up trucks (with back seats), no mini-vans or SUV's, but lots and lots (20? 30?) of full-sized vehicles. I was really impressed, since last time I picked up an EA vehicle late at night, I actually had to take a compact car as that was all they had available (they charged me for the small car, not the mid-size ressie price). Sorry I didn't pay more attention to the #/make of full-size vehicles, but they were BIG (and I drive a volvo 740 sedan or a plymouth grand voyager at home!)

We returned our car to the Emerald Aisle side A yesterday Oct. 17th, Friday @ 1:00 PM. The Aisle was very full compared to what we had to choose from on Wed. Oct. 8th at 8 PM. We saw lots of full size and some Aztecs and Blazers. I don't think that I saw any mini-vans.
