What Have You Seen A Character Do?

I did see Captain Hook pretend to strangle a kid with his hook...if that's unusual.

All from our trip in May-

We were at AK and it was pouring rain. FOTLK had just started and so Camp MM was empty. We first met Minnie and then went over to Mickey. As we were getting autographs/photos, Minnie walked over. They danced together and kissed. No one was in line so we stayed for a few minutes. We felt so lucky to get out photo with Minnie & Mickey. I'd post it but I don't have enough posts.

After we saw M&M we went to see Donald and Goofy where they fought over my sister. More great photos!

My youngest sister is 12 and has braces. Jasmine told her "you must be very rich to have all those jewels on you teeth" :rotfl: She loved that and told everyone about it when we got home.

This is similar to a previous post, but when we were waiting to meet Sleeping Beauty and Jasmine (for DD 6) the CM noticed my DS (4) was wearing a Peter Pan outfit (he also had a Special Guest Name Badge on :cloud9: . She asked him if he had met Peter Pan yet and he shook his head. I reminded him that he had met Peter Pan on our previous trip when we took the Family Magic Tour and that Peter had even taken us on Philharmagic. The CM waited until DS was distrcted and told me that Peter was coming into the Storybook Room in 15 minutes. I thanked her and said well we will have to get back in line then...and she told us to just exit the room, take a right instead of left and wait by the ropes. A little while later someone came and got us. We felt like celebrities being escorted into the room ahead of everyone else. We got in the room and a second later the door opened and Peter Pan and Wendy came in. Peter Pan said, "Aidan remember me I took you on Philharmagic last year!" My son was speechless for a minute and then talked Peter's ear off. We had a good 5 minutes or so with them. My son couldn't stop talking about how Peter remembered him!!! I still get tears thinking about it. :cloud9:

My 20 YO daughter wanted a picture with Stitch, so as I took the picture, Stitch squirted me and the camera. With so many kids standing around, violence was out of the question.

I'm sure this was perfectly planned, but it's one of my favorite Disney memories anyway.

My daughter was only 11 months old, and taking a nap in her stroller, so I waited on a bench outside of the Indy show at MGM while my son and husband went to see it. Along came a green army guy who signed an autograph for a kid. Just then, the explosions started going off in the Indy show, and without missing a beat, the green army guy fell to the ground. He got up slowly, brushed himself off, all while warily looking over his shoulder. He then finished signing his autograph.

:rotfl:

Well, it was a small thing, but when I posed for a photo with Mickey, he kissed me. I was taken by surprise and said to my family (taking the photo) "Mickey kissed me!" Mickey covered his eyes as though I had embarrassed him and we all broke up laughing. I kissed him back on the cheek.

Queen of Hearts made my children kneel at her feet in order to get an autograph. :worship:

Jafar took my 7 year old neice's autograph book and tossed it some distance over his shoulder instead of signing it. She frowned at him and said "That was VERY rude!" as she walked off to get it. I am pretty sure I heard Jafar choke trying not to laugh at her. When she brought it back and handed it to him, he signed it.

The same 7 year old neice drew a picture of Chip and gave it to him during our Garden Grill lunch. Chip drew a picture of himself and gave it back to her! It was a wonderful sketch!

We did a CRT breakfast that same trip and had 11 & 12 year old nephews along. They were not at all interested in princesses and continued to eat while the princesses interacted with the girls in our party. Mary Poppins asked them how come they were so quiet and one of the mom's replied that they were very shy around pretty girls. Approximately 12 hours later at the Spectromagic parade, Mary Poppins walked up to us as we sat on the curb in the dark and asked the two boys if "they were still shy around pretty girls". They about fell over when she recognized them!!!

One character interaction memory that I will never live down happened in MGM when DH and I were there for our 5th anniversary. I was walking down a street minding my own business when someone put their hand on my shoulder. Assuming it is DH, I turn around and to my great surprise - discover Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum. I am pretty sure I made some sort of shrieking noise. DH thought it was the funniest thing ever! I am always on the lookout for those two!

We also saw Lilo and Stitch at Typhoon Lagoon spraying people in the Lazy River with water.

Have to agree that the character interaction was much better at DL when we were there two weeks ago than any of the 5 trips we've taken as a family.

Some of the highlights of that trip include my DS getting to ride the train halfway around the park with Mary Poppins, Bert, and one of the penguins (he sat between Mary & Bert and even held Mary's parasol for much of the trip), Goofy sitting down next to my DS prior to the DL parade and pretending to eat his crackers and drink his water, and a ridiculously long interaction between Captain Hook, Peter Pan, Tigger, and Pooh involving sword fights, balloons, and CPR--Tigger and Pooh won!

All that said, I felt horrible for most of the characters at DL since there were very few that had any handlers keeping order. It was a free-for-all with about 1/2 of the characters we saw all week--no lines, parents pushing their kids in front of the character, etc.
