What Have You Seen A Character Do?

Back in the early 80's , I was walking behind my parents down Main Street and Tweedle Dee And Dum came up and pushed me out of the way so they could both "goose" my mom at the same time. They followed behind her and goosed her most of the way down Main St. Could you just imagine the lawsuits if they did something like that today?

In August 2005 at The Garden Grill in Epcot, we saw Chip and Dale get into a fight with sugar packets and climb over the railings and run after one another. Mickey came and broke it up.

In May 2006 at the Disney Visa members character spot in Epcot, our ds5 and ds8 spent about 15 to 20 minutes with Mickey and Pluto by themselves. Mickey started a game of London Bridge is Falling Down. I was a bit afraid Mickey was going to lose his head and freak the kids out when he went under my boy's bridge and got caught, but he did alright. Pluto started a game of hide and seek and then tag with them too. It was the best character experience ever.

We also had are DS & DD ride the Tea cups with the Madhatter at MVMCP last year, Also Twettle-DEE and Dumb were with him. My daughter will still thumb her nose at people and tell them that that MH taught her that. They thought it was the best thing in the world. It was great except it was the last thing of the night and we had just ran out of film. :furious: Oh well, next time I will have DIGITAL :thumbsup2 ,so no film.

I was in such awe of how much fun they were having I did not take even one picture. DH said "You have taken 300 pictures and THIS is what you forget to take a picture of?" :rolleyes1 I think he was more disappointed than me. But just goes to show best memories stay in the heart!

We have hud some fun interactions....

On our first trip in 2003, Tigger picked up my DS (then 8) and bounced around with him.

My DD and I got to ride Splash Mountain last November with Brer Bear and Brer Rabbitt. At the end of the ride we got the commemorative photo (courtesy of Disney!), a certificate stating we had a magical moment with BB and BR and also autographs and hugs. It was a definite highlight.

The "living statue" (is that her official title??!!) in Italy is always good for some fun. Our DD was looking at her last year and she flipped her hat off and pulled on her ponytail. It was a riot! :lmao:

I have had so many good character interactions. Let me see:
*At the late EMH on New Year's, I had stroller races with Chip and Dale (I think they may have been bored. NO ONE was in line for the characters, except the Mickey/Minnie line). Everyone watching was laughing. I got a great photo of them in the stroller.

*I got proposed to by Mickey! I was in front of the castle waiting for a picture with Mickey (this was back during CSC stage show). Well, Mickey got down on his knee, took my hand, and proposed! Of course I said yes, but we couldn't tell Minnie. So from then on that day, whenever I saw Mickey by the castle, he made a "shush" motion.

*And just recently, Timon did the same thing at MGM. I made my autograph book, and each page has a picture of the character. Well, when Timon saw his page he LOVED it. He drew a heart with his signiture, then got down and proposed. It was great.

*I had the tweedles fighting over my hat.

I just love the characters and great character interaction. It's what makes the day so much fun.

i've seen poor Goofy trip over some chairs at one of teh restaurants near Innoventions...

I had sprained my shoulder the day before going to Disney in 2004, and I had to wear a sling.
At Donalds Breakfastasaurest Pluto came over and started licking my arm! :p

In order to get the perfect picture, I always ask for the kids to pose nice for a good picture and then they can go crazy for the next. In 1997, 29 of us were at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast and Alice came for a visit. There were 15 kids grouped around Alice. The first picture was the nice one, the second picture was the crazy one. We didn't think anything about it, but when we got the pictures developed, we noticed Alice had her eyes crossed and her tounge sticking out with the rest of the kids doing the same thing!!!!! That was a nice surprise. A fun memory indeed.

One trip to DL we saw the Fab Five wearing Frontierland garb paddle a canoe around the Rivers of America.

Apparently the characters do have more leeway at DL, as last year when there were no other guests around Gepetto performed the whole dance sequence from Napolean Dynamite for my DD18 and her friends.

Ah, Stitch! We got to see Pirate Stitch on our cruise. He kept licking everyone's autograph books and hiding them in his ear!!
When we saw Stitch he kept licking everyone's ear, including mine. Of course, being me, I didn't realize it until after he had done it and our picture had been taken. So much fun!

(Forgot to mention this so I had to add it)

We went to eat at some restruant when it was raining and we saw around 10 of the disney characters inside (Pinocchio, Gapetto, Robin Hood, Friar whats-his-face((can't remember the name)) King Louie and tons of others!) playing tag and stuff.

Stitch was acting silly.
I was playing with him - it was EMH at AK, and there weren't many children around so he was having fun running around kissing my arm. MY DBF took out his camera and tried to take a picture, but forgot to turn it on (since it was not a planned meet), so Stitch raspberried him.

My kids went to get Governor Ratcliff (or Radcliff??) from Pocahontas, autograph. He took their pens and started walking off...then he came back and pulled up his cape and blocked their faces, lol. So all you could see were legs. Jessie and Woody were funny, we did separate pages for our autograph book, one for Jessie, one for Woody. Well Jessie signed hers and then signed Woody's page and then hit her knee and put her hand to her mouth like she was laughing. Then gave the pages to woody. Then Woody put his hands on hips and started shaking his fist at Jessie while she's laughing. So, he signed his and hers as well.

Cute story #1:

When I was ~13 and my brother was ~5, we were just arriving at the MK with our friends and families. My brother and his best friend were in strollers. While we're standing under the Main Street train station trying to figure out where to go, the Big Bad Wolf runs up to me and gives me a noogie!

My brother stands up in his stroller and screams:

LET GO OF MY SISTER!!!!

:rotfl2:

My whole family had a huge laugh at that and my mom got a picture.

When I was growing up, I had the Disney 45 storybook of the Three Little Pigs, and I played it constantly and danced around my room. My mom said she thought she would never get "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?" out of her head!

Cute story #2:

Last year during our honeymoon, we stood in line for a picture with Mickey in front of the World Showcase. My DH are both wearing our bride and groom ears. Mickey kept hitting "his" hand and trying to tell me something but I was too lame to figure it out. DH finally says "He wants to see the RING, show him your ring!" And Mickey's like "Duh!"

So we took a photo of the 3 of us with Mickey holding up my left hand. It was really cute.

On our first family trip to WDW we were swimming at the Wilderness Lodge pool when several people started pointing toward the lake. Tigger, Goofy and Pluto were tubing/skiing on the lake. They came ashore and entered the WL pool. Pluto picked up my 5 year old DD and carried her around the pool. This was a truly magical moment for her and us. The trio did not stay long as they were soon mobbed.

Wow these stories are great! Eyore got down on his knees and bowed down to my DD who was dressed as Jasmine and had to have Pooh and Piglet help him back up, at one point we thought all three would end up on the floor! Then Pooh noticed my birthday badge and had me take a pic with all of them after he fussed over my hair, it was so sweet I nearly cried! I had never been big into characters until then.
When my DD was 2 the first character she met was Donald Duck in EP at the Mexico pavillion so he was wearing a poncho, anyway she was so excited and so darn cute everyone around us was taking pics of her with Donald. When he left she kept saying DOnald duck is my best friend and ppl were still taking pics of her, I even heard some one say, this is what WDW is about! lol Ive never forgotten that. Oh and my last story..When my DD was dressed as Jasmine she met Jasmine in Morrocco and Jasmine got so excited to see her she danced around the room with her and told her Aladdin would never be able to tell them apart. My DD was thrilled!

Love, love, love  great character interactions.

Tigger tried to pull my best friend & I into the back room with him once.

Chip & Dale stole my hat & ran around with it putting it on each others heads & then on my friends head.

Beast knelt down & took my hand, kissed it & then stood up & waltzed me around. That one was the best. :cloud9:

When I was last at Disney (early 90's) we saw Mickey Scuba Diving in the Living Seas with all the fish and waving at everyone as we walked by the aquarium tank. It was a sight I will always remember....

Hook and Smee 'mugged' me. Pulled my hair, stole my hair scruncie, pretended to hold me captive and riffled thru my backpack! It was the best charector ineraction I have ever had, and to beat it all we were over by POTC by ourselves for about 10 min before anyone else even noticed there were charectors out. DFi got some of the best pictures of it all.

On my honeymoon, we ate at Olivia's for breakfast and I was wearing my bright orange sweatshirt. Tigger ran up all excited and he and I proceeded to dance our way around the restaurant. I was literally giddy the rest of the day because I danced with Tigger!

At Liberty Tree Tavern, Minnie, Meeko, Chip and Dale were all fighting over who was going to have the next turn holding my son. They ended up on the floor playing with him for about 15 minutes.

Also at Liberty Tree Tavern, Goofy seemed to be having too much fun with our family and when he was told it was time to leave to get ready for the parade, he made sure my Dad was securely sitting in his chair and proceeded to take him with him by pushing my Dad and his chair all the way to the back of the room and out of sight. My daughter refused to look or talk with Goofy upon his return to our table minutes later. He did, after all, steal Grandpa!

Back when Artist Point had the Pooh character breakfast, I went to pay the bill while the rest of the family headed out into the Wilderness Lodge lobby. I entered the lobby in time to see my three year old walking hand and hand over the bridge with Pooh.

During Christmas one year, my son was intimidated by all of the characters and asked to see none of them. He would run the other way if he was approached. As we walked through Epcot, we passed by Santa and Mrs. Claus. My son asked to see Santa, and we immediately jumped into line. Of course, Santa needed to take a break right when we reached the front which caused a family behind us to literally go ballistic and really put a damper on our excitement in the fact our son finally wanted to see someone. We decided to just wait for Santa to return, but instead, Santa and Mrs. Claus decided to stick around and visit with my son first, and then they headed into a back door, leaving the other family to continue their ranting. As we were piling things back into the stroller and getting the kids settled, out of that same back door comes Mickey and Minnie and they made a straight line shot for my son and daughter. They devoted a good 10 minutes to my children before they were led away by their friends to visit with other children. We think Santa shared some thoughts with Mickey that day.

Meeko stole our bread basket at LTT and ran around the restaurant with it.

Belle asked my dd if my dad was her "Beast"

Goofy WHACKED his head (I'm sure it was purely by accident) into a hanging light at LTT

Pluto, also at LTT was showing my dd how to "shake her booty" and almost toppled over a waitress and a tray of food.
