What have you done to raise WDW spending money?

We borrorow from ourselves every year (401) that comes out of our checks, and pay ourselves back with intrest. We also have a commissary at work that we have money taken out every month to spend in there and we have extra taken out and pull it out right before we leave.

We leave in 8 more weeks :cool1: :cool1: :earsboy: :earsboy: pirate:

LOL!!! Just last night I told DH I want to have a quick yard sale before our trip!!! He'll be glad to know I'm not the only one!! :rotfl2:

Actually, we are in good shape this trip. Since we got the Dining plan I don't think we will need as much cash each day, but here's what I was doing before I knew we'd book the dining package.

1. Opened a savings acct. at IngDirect.com - $15/week goes in from my regular checking and I never even miss it. They are currently paying 3% interest, better than any banks around here.
2. We have the giant water cooler jug that DH throws his change in EVERY night. We haven't removed a cent since our last trip so hoping its a nice chunk of change by now.
3. Used the Disney Visa for any monthly bills that would allow it (I was disappointed so many would only direct debit from a bank acct.). I just got my reward card with $100 on it, not much but its something!!

I did some selling on ebay thinking that would be disney money but it ended up paying for the $280 stroller I wanted (for Disney too, LOL!!).

Hope you make loads of money at your yard sale!!!!!!!

Ok, I'm really kind of embarassed to admit this, since it shows my momentary stupidity!!! This isn't really a planned way to make money, but I booked a last minute trip on Monday to leave Saturday. Here's how I am going to afford to splurge:

1) I checked my mailbox thinking that I would only have junk mail, and found a cheque for $700 that I totally forgot I was getting

2) my father proudly gave me all the US coins he collected over the years and had hand rolled (we don't live in the US) - a total of $2.50!

3) the most embarassing - I was shredding my mail and noticed something weird on my Visa bill - it had a very large credit!! I overpaid my bill TWICE and the credit is four figures..... Stupid, I know, but I travel a lot out of the country, am rarely home to collect mail, and sometimes lose track. So it's like found money!!!

I just had to go buy a new dryer b'cuz ours bit the dust. 18 months no interest though. Since DH had to have the matching washer, now I can sell these and a TON of other stuff in a yard sale. We too have the magic change jar that always has more than you think in it and I was thinking of auctioning off a kidney on ebay! :rotfl2:
just kidding...kinda like bugsy! very funny...night shift in "special entertainment" :rotfl2:

DH :smooth: is selling oranges at the base of the

shift job in the "special entertainment" industry
(just kidding..sorry... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: )

That is just way too funny!! My DH and I joke about the "Special entertainment" industry for extra WDW money all the time!!! :earseek:

I thought I was the only one who borrowed from 401K...The first time was 1000.00, last year was 1300.00, seems to just go up and up and up. Wonder how much I should take out this year...oh yeah that's right...Today was the last payment I had to make to myself.

Wow a full paycheck in two weeks...I wonder what that'll be like... :confused3

Waiting tables at Cracker Barrel Friday & Saturday nights nets me about $200 extra a week. Not too shabby for 2 nights of work.

I sub. at the local High School and one of the middle schools....
but I am liking the idea of selling a kidney, or blood...and I DO have 3 fairly nice kids...hummmm
Also I do a lot of sewing, and try to take an extra job or 3 a month or so in advance. I DO NOT do alterations,( seems like that "adult/night entermaint" some one else was talking about...), but I can make a wedding dress in under a week, and that can pay off nicely.
Tried the change thing... but when I remember to save it I forget where I put it. I tried to save a few of my subbing paychecks and not cash them till the week I go to WDW, and now I can't find them either! I know I hid them so I would not spend it, but this is cracy!
Also I will grately accept any one elses loose change, folding money, or checks of any size.

It must be a guy thing ! Had to have the matching washer ! The happiest I probably ever made my DH was the day I told him we could go buy the washer to match the dryer we had purchased 6-8 months or longer before!!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I do extra work on the weekends (NOT in the special entertainment industry!!) and all of that is "travel", ie WDW, money. We also collect change. And we follow our college baseball team and put $$ away for home runs and strikeouts.

We started saving last September- almost all of my eBay earnings have gone towards the cause. My Christmas bonus at work paid for the plane tickets. eBay money has paid for the hotel and Disney tickets. For spending money we have been tucking away all the extra unexpected money we get, plus some of my spring bonus from work. The rest of my spring bonus is being saved till we get back, so we won't feel the missed wages since neither of us gets paid vacation. As of March 31 we had all the money raised. We leave in 19 days!

I just make sure my bank account is as full as possible, try and save money in it. Then when Disney comes, I'll take about $200-$300 out to spend. :)

My June trip is paid for....
$178 for round-trip airfare
$79 for POFQ
7-day passes with hopper option
over $500 Disney dollars - over $250 of them came from creation rewards

Just paid as we went along (booked almost 16 months ago) and everything fell into place. I consider it a blessing.
