My resort is paid for, now Im trying to get finished paying my park tickets and extra spending money for next week!!

So last nite I had a brain storm and made a FRANTIC rush thru my house and dug out all kinds of stuff to sell at my YARD SALE ON SATURDAY THAT I JUST "THREW" TOGETHER AT THE LAST MINUTE!!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Am I the only one who does crazy stuff spur of the moment to get extra WDW MONEY???? :confused3 :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We put our spare change in a jug. It is amazing how fast it can accure. As for my DS's, they have been saving their allowance. They can't wait to go and spend their money! :sunny:

Save spare change and one year we had a garage sale and went around to family members and friends who had things that they wanted to get rid of (basically things taking up space in their attics and garages) and asked them if they would donate to the garage sale (with the understanding that I was manning the garage sale and would get the money). I ended up getting tons of stuff that people didn't want and ended up making about $500 :goodvibes

Oh and by the way Bama Tigger have fun in WDW-from an LSU Tigger :hyper2:

thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

I am thinking about selling stuff on Ebay, but I have never done that before, so I am a little intimidated. Also, I provide home based mental health services to kids, so we are putting my mileage reimbursement checks aside for a couple of months for spending money. Also hitting up the grandparents for souveneir money!! :scratchin

Selling on ebay is great!! Just make sure you accept PAYPAL! Most folks pay that way, and it goes directly into your bank account! :goodvibes
Ebay is easy! Good Luck! :cheer2:

I play in friendly texas hold em poker games once a month or so - the buy in is usually $5 and the winner usually gets about $30+ dollars. I am a fairly good player so I win occassionally - when I win - all of the winnings go into my Disney fund - I have $96 in there right now.

I also collect change throughout the year and I save all of my winning scratch tickets and redeem them right before I go. Between the tickets and the change I usually cash in about $75-$100.

That money serves as my spending money while at WDW. To me it is a fun way to save and I don't feel any deprivation to my wallet that way. Plus - I love to play poker!!

5 more months to my POFQ 5th anniversary trip - can't wait!

I think I am going to try it this weekend. Thanks for the support!!! :wave2:

I also play Bunco 1 a month i have that two more times before Disney and next Saturday I have All Night Bingo that I am going to!!! I BETTER WIN, or I'll be a sad panda!!!

We save up so that our hotel and park tickets are paid off before we leave for our trips. We put money aside each month that goes into our Disney fund, we put all our bottle redemption, spare change, and other "found" money in the fund, and when family members ask what we want for birthdays, holidays, etc., we always say that we'd appreciate a donation toward our Disney fund (as an additional, special thanks we follow up with copies of a family photo taken while we're in WDW).

That wasn't added up fast enough for me, so I started putting all my singles away. I try not to spend them and take them out of my wallet as soon as I get home. Now THAT has helped add up!! :teacher:

I live in Canada, where there are $1 and $2 coins (no bills) so saving change adds up very fast! In the past 6 months we've collected over $500 US in coins. I just take the heavy load into the bank and they give me bills in US. Fantastic way to save!

Budget and save, save, save mostly! We budget before we make any ressies and then determine what set amount we have to put away each paycheck to cover all expenses, including spending money.

We also save up our change! Plus, we live in an apartment where we need quarters for laundry. We roll up the quarters in the $10 coin rolls from the bank and then we have to exchange $10 cash for every roll we use, so we actually USE that saved change for Disney!!

A friend of mine had a garage sale the day before we left last year. I put my stuff in with hers and it was a fun way to have money in hand before we left! I've also done the Ebay thing, not for a Disney trip but for another trip..It was a great way to make cash at the time, but now I'm regretting selling some of the things I sold!

We used to save ALOT...DH was working a lot of overtime last year and all the extra we put in my old Lion King bandaid tin. I also at that time had (in addition to my full-time teaching job) a part-time job as a bookkeeper at a theatre. Every bit of that money went into the tin. We have not added to it in at least 6-8 months, but have been using it for Disney for about a year now and still have money in it...not bad!!

Through my job I have a savings account at the credit union and I have $20 per pay put in through direct deposit. I also get paid two extra pays per year which I make sure and put at least $250 into it each time. In November I refinaced my house and got back the money from my escrow account and I put that away as well. At this point I am ahead of the game in money saved for my trip.

I also sell on EBay and we are hoping to have a yard sale this year as well.

uuummmmm I got married!
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

just kidding!
I used the disney credit card all year and we hav eone of those HUGE change jars (which dh doesn't want to cash in now so he has to come up with the loot) and now i started direct deposit of $20 a week to an ING account so i figure in three years I will be able to suprise HIM and I will pay for a trip for once! ( granted that it is ultimately still his money - but he thinks I can't save any and I get the household allowance every month- and he is right I usually spend all of it :earboy2: )

ok, didnt so much have to go through an effort of raising it... but besides the obvious (working) im using some of my left over scholarship money for the trip. After my tuition and textbooks are payed off each semester, i have a good $500-600 in the bank thats extra that they just pay directly to me in the form of a check. And since im splitting the cost of my next vacay with friends, thats all i really need for basics. Now all my extra spending money is going to be whatever i put aside from working this summer.

DH :smooth: is selling oranges at the base of the
freeway offramp. I have taken a (a-hem!) night
shift job in the "special entertainment" industry
(just kidding..sorry... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: )

I have a small waste basket that I put change in after my jar is full, I've emptied my jar into it about 3 times already so it's about 1/2 full, & we'll be having a yard sell later this month.
