This is our first Disney vacation and I have gone overboard on planning!
I started planning this vacation with 268 days to go. We decided that we are not telling the kids until we put them in the car to go, but I will already have the car packed, etc. This sounded like a GREAT idea but...I got a bit obsessed. Since I didn't want them to know about it I decided to pack their suitcases at my mom and dad's house and as a result decided to get new socks, underwear, toothbrushes etc so they wouldn't miss theirs. Everyone needs new ones anyway, right? So, needless to say, this has gone to an extreme.
I have bought them all new shirts and swimsuits (Disney of course), been collecting the Disney movies, and have almost everything packed already except their tennis shoes and a pair of jeans...and we sill have 47 days to go! I even found an idea where you name your car (ours will be the Black Pearl since it's a black suburban), wear pirate bandanas, talk like pirates and watch the Pirate movies to pass some of our driving time (24 hours for us). Ok, I even got Disney shampoo/conditioner, soap, and wipes! I have printed coloring pages, bought Disney crayons, have Disney trivia games, you name it - I think I've done it all.
I have a gift for each of the four kids for our second driving day, just to keep the magic going...
I am curious to see what others have done to make the trip memorable. Please share...
