WOW I feel like I have barely been on the boards the past month or so. Just so busy with life really. My youngest son fractured two ribs and got lymes disease in the same week. So last week was HORRIBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. :scared: I must say though...that he has turned the corner this weekend so that IS A GOOD THING. At least this didn't happen right before our July trip. :scared1:

So did anything BIG happen that I missed??? I feel so out of the loop and I so love to be on here a few times each week.

Just want to say that I am glad to hear that he is getting better and hope his recovery is a quick one!!!

Hope he's feeling better. :grouphug:

The main thing you've missed is the whole free dining and ADRS's.

So.. I guess you didn't hear about the new "Disney America" theme park at Baltimore Harbor? and the Disney's Baltimore Harbor Resort announced......

Just kidding Denise... ;) You haven't missed anything. Missed you though.

:beach: Forgive me... I do these things from time to time.

So sorry about your son's troubles...hope he is doing well.

The nice thing about the DIS is that through all of life's trials and tribulations, you can take a break and we will still be here when you return.. So welcome back and enjoy catching up on your reading! :goodvibes

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: You are FUNNY!!!!

Thanks everyone. :goodvibes He had a rough Sunday ( a week ago). He had a two part accident. Before his soccer game he was playing at a friend's house and fell off the top of a slide on one of those big wooden play gyms. He never told me this but he landed on his right side and was apparently hurting before the game ever started. Then shortly after that...he had his soccer game. He is a goalie, jumped up and sorta dived horizontally in the air to deflect the ball from going in (the ball was high in the air) and he came crashing down on the same side. That finished him off. He actually felt cracking.

HE also had a weird rash on his abdomen that I had been putting some cream on it for a few days, because it itched and while we were at the doctor the next day for rib injury I had it looked at. We found out that he had the lymes disease. He had a tick bite/attached about 2-3 weeks prior to this and it never did anything and we kinda forgot about it. We never even put two and two together when the rash started. He has eczema and really thought nothing of it. However the morning that he got hurt, It looked very different from two days prior and I told him that we needed to get that checked and then the rib thing happened. So he is on antibitics for 21 days. Apparently the bulls eye rash thingie appears 2 -3 weeks later. He caught it right at the beginning stage. Next apparently is flu like symptoms/fever. Which I would have probably freaked out about thinking it was swine flu.

SO he was in massive pain all week with the fractured/bruised ribs and missed the week of school. HE only got relief with the tylenol 3 with codeine. He has turned the corner this weekend and is feeling better. Oh and of course.....dh was away all week on a business trip so it was a longgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg week.

So sorry to hear about your son's injuries. But it's very good that you caught the lyme disease early. It can be very, very nasty if left untreated for too long. Fortunately anitbiotics take care of it if caught in time.

Hope he recovers completely very soon!

Wow Denise ! when it rains it pours right ? Your poor son and my heart goes out to you too not having your DH around this week :scared: (have been through that too - DH away on biz / daughter in hospital with severe asthma attack....very unnerving and not fun :guilty: - it's during those moments when we realize how important it is having those we love around us for support & strength) - give yourself a pat on the back because you've done what needed to be done & helped your son through it all :thumbsup2

We send :grouphug: to your son and you ! Not a pleasant experience but very glad to hear your son is coming along and getting back to himself ::yes::

Sending pixie dust your way pixiedust:

No really, Disney bought land for a new resort hotel at the National Harbor in George County Md. It is 11 miles from the National Mall. The press release did not mention DVC, but it is speculated.

Poor kid, what an awful week! Glad he's feeling better and you have your trip in July to look forward to.

I did hear of this. My friend sent me that link when it was released. We live between D.C. and Balitmore. It is Prince George's County MD that the article mentioned as being the location.

So glad to hear that your son is doing better. It's so scary when they get hurt. You were fortunate that the doctor diagnosed the lyme disease before it got even worse. Sending pixie dust to you and yours. Take care.
