What has your child swallowed?

My son shoved a pretzel up his nose when he was 2, the doctor did CPR and blew it out, it was gross!

My kids haven't swallowed anything but my dd, now 13, did put an M&M up her nose when she was about 2 or 3. It was ALL the way up there.
My dh took a flashlight and a tweezer and got it out :confused3
Yes, I know it was dangerous. I was at work and THANK goodness I wasn't home to know that it had happened until it was taken out with my eyebrow tweezer :scared1:

My DH did this when he was about the same age--one up each nostril. MIL called the doctor who told her "Don't worry, they'll melt." They did. It wasn't pretty. The photos are hysterical! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My step-brother's son swallowed a coin (I think it was a nickel) a few years ago when he was seven. It was a good thing he did. His mom took him in for an x-ray just to see where it was in his system and they found a huge, spreading tumor between the back of his heart/lungs and his spine. It was non-metasticizing, but it had grown to the point it would have soon started causing big problems. Had he not done a crazy kid thing like swallowing that coin they may not have discovered it until it began pushing on his organs. He is a lucky kid!

My little DS swallowed his first lost tooth when he was 5! So, we drew a picture of the tooth to put under his pillow for the tooth fairy! :goodvibes That tooth fairy is very understanding!:thumbsup2

I guess I'm lucky, my DD has never swallowed anything that wasn't food.

OP, I'm sorry about your DD. Does she remember swallowing anything?

My immediate thought was "that she knows about"

One son swallowed a couple marbles, we think.

When my DD was 3 she swallowed a quarter.
Took x-rays - sure enough it was just that. Told me to keep checking to see if she passed it. A month later with nothing to show for it, they went in and did an endoscopy on her. It had started to adhere to the lining of her stomach and it took longer that they thought.
We still have the quarter in our safe - Dh said it's one expensive quarter=)

Don't recall ever swallowing anything myself, but I did once convince my little sis to eat a rock that I told her was candy. Mom was NOT pleased. :confused3 But then, I did try to sell her at Sears once too.
