What has Disney removed that makes you the saddest?

Alien Encounter River Country The original Test Track MGM studios back when there was no sorcerer hat The old days when the merchandise was less generic.
I agree!! I really miss Alien Encounter. That was a brilliant ride. I'm sorry Stitch but you and your taco burps just don't cut it.

I agree with many other mentioned.

1. Main St Bakery is #1, hands down. I love Starbucks, but why couldn't they have co-branded and sold Starbucks IN MSB? So sad!
2. Tarzan Rocks
3. Resort specific merchandise. If I'm paying an arm and a leg to stay at the Poly, I want something that I can wear that says I did! Ha! (Bad example because they did start adding back a few and I think Poly was one, but still...)
4. Who Wants to be a Millionaire! I am more cerebral than thrill ridey and I loved playing along!
5. Figaro fries at Sleepy Hollow in MK
6. The days before the giant tour groups!

How could I forget to include my MOST missed thing!! Spectromagic!! I miss is so much!

I miss food vouchers. I used to get a number of them from taking out of town friends to see about the dvc. Those vouchers kept me fed through college.

SkyWay.
Got to ride Busch Gardens's version this month. Made me miss WDW all over again.

I am always finding and enjoying new things, so I don't get too hung up on the changes from year to year. There have been a few things...

Old Test Track - they did not change that for the better in any way IMHO!

Stars and Motor Cars Parade at HS. That was the best parade!

I do miss Spectromagic, although I like MSEP, too.

I haven't seen the new day parade at MK, but I miss the one from 2 or 3 parades ago, the one where the guys were riding around on bikes with their sketch pads. That's my favorite MK daytime parade!

Sheesh, I sound like a parade junky! I don't even consider myself that much of a parade person, although I will aslo miss Jammin' Jungle Parade!!!!

Main Street Bakery. The REAL MSB. This one still boggles the mind to me... WHY take one of the most iconic, beloved, always full of people, parts of Disney and remove it/ ruin it? they could have put that Starbucks anywhere, but it had to replace MSB???

I really miss the smells from there and the yummy treats, the morning breaks we always took there. It's awful now. Packed, slow, not magical at all. When my Dsis and I were there in the fall, it was the longest line/ wait of the whole trip!

I also still really miss If You Had wings.

I soooooooo agree! It absolutely broke my heart to learn recently what they had done to the Magic Kingdom bakery. Now I'm sure all you can smell wafting into the streets is crappy Starbucks coffee.

I miss the old Spaceship Earth especially hearing the "Tomorrow's Child" song as the ride is ending. It always brought sentimental tears. I think that the interactive cartoon drawing and the scene changes towards the end of the ride are a poor replacement. I also miss the old Mexico river ride, especially the beginning scenes with the music and dancing. Lastly...I do not like what they did to Test Track. I loved the bumpy ride over the brick road and the robot room. I don't know why they have to change the classic rides.

I was opening this thread to say "the Main St. Bakery."

I wonder if they still pump out the fake odors? Supposedly they used to when it was MSB.

I miss Sid Cahuenga's in DHS. We enjoyed shopping there and I hadn't seen it mentioned yet.

For me, the list begins and ends with The Adventurers Club. Far and away the absolute dumbest decision that WDW ever made. To this day I cannot fathom why they did it.

It was one of the single best things in the entire place. Everything about it was perfect. It was a truly unique experience that you really can't find anywhere else on the planet. I loved ending my nights there. WHY, DISNEY, WHY!!!???

I'm one of the strange freaks who love Alien Encounter. I think because it was so unexpected. Who would have thought something like that could have been found in the Magic Kingdom.

Alien Encounter, Horizons, original Journey Into Imagination, Jeremy Irons SE narration...

...and common sense in their management of the parks.

I hate how they stripped down Caribbean Beach. Used to have the fountain, band at night, animals on the island in the middle, food court that had a ton of different options to choose from and now it's just another over sized cookie cutter resort.

I have a feeling that the last half of SSE is getting a revamp and the cartoon is there to distract us while they work on it. That's my hope anyway. Two way video conferencing used to to be so futuristic but now its super common so I imagine they will have to come up with something else next. I actually enjoy the cartoon and we always record them and laugh our heads off, but its with the assumption that something else is coming.

And anyway thanks for clarifying that for me! I hear Tomorrows Child come up on my Disney Pandora all the time and I knew it must be a ride because the end (where you unload) is really long, but I couldn't remember it myself. So thanks to you, I see that it is an older SSE. I love that channel. It pops up with older theme park versions of ones like the old Tiki Room, POTC, O Canada, etc. I always get excited when it plays something from the parks...

They have the Stars and Motor Cars Parade at Disneyland Paris Resort. An excuse to go there!!! :cheer2:

Adding on to the "cookie cutter" notion, I miss all the resort specific merchandise you use to be able to buy at all the different resorts. Like the resort specific mugs, ornaments, etc. They used to have a much bigger variety of items but now it's just all the same generic made in China stuff in all of the resorts. Same with the parks too. Not much variety going on anymore.

And I miss the watermelon juice that they use to sell at the Mexico booth during the F&W festival. I could drink that stuff by the gallon.
