Of course everything is subjective but here is how we consider the restaurants at Disney.
First, if it is a buffet, it must be considered in those terms. You can't compare a TS buffet to Citricos evenly. So, if I say to someone, try this buffet its good.....I mean, its good in buffet terms. Same thing with a high end meal like Artist Point etc. If I say, a meal there wasn't so good, I mean in high end terms. The food and service for the money was or wasn't good.
So, with that in mind, we keep a list on places we love, we want to try and to avoid. Our avoid list, in no particular order....
1. Cinderellas Royal Table : FOR THE PRICE, the food was only so-so for dinner, breakfast was okay. And even though meeting the characters was awesome, again, the price and trouble of getting the reservation etc wasn't really worth it. You can have a similar character experience other places. If I wanted to eat in the Castle at least once, I would go the breakfast route. Dinner wasn't worth the cost.
2. Spirit of Aloha : Show was average, nothing spectacular. (no where near HHDR) Food was less than stellar, in fact, poor. Not inedible, but again, for the price it should be better than any average restaurant you could find anywhere.
3. Morocco : Some of the food here was very good, some horrible. We made an error in ordering by ordering their 'special'. I'm sure they have 100 of those ready to go in the back. I believe we will someday give this place another shot and when we do, I will order something I know the must do some fresh work to prepare. But for now, we have many other places to try before it gets a 2nd chance.
4. 50s Prime time Cafe : This is the only one we will never ever go back to. I'm 40, I basically had to fend for myself food wise from about 15 years old on and am not picky. But the food at this place was horrible, horrible. I would like to say it was still better than home, but it wasn't. At home, we have this thing we do on nights where we got home late, or need to go to the store but haven't etc, called "fend for yourself" night. Lets just say, that when the food arrived, if we were truly at home, it would have become a 'fend for yourself' night.
A few comments on some other posts. Hollywood and Vine for the price was decent. It is a buffet and it was decent for the price. The plus was the characters for the kids. Of all the character meal we have attended over the last 5 years, these were the most attentive. I just did a quick survey of the family and 2 of the 3 said this was the best character experience place of all time. (The other said 1900 breakfast at the GF.)
