I'm just starting to look into planning a vacation for the end of the year. In the past, I'd plan about a year out, so I'm at a disadvantage. Anyway, I miss the "codes"! Wah. (What happened to them?)

So we're probably staying at the Grand Floridian, Value season. Might do AAA or an AP (although I understand the AP isn't a guaranteed thing). Any other discounts out there? Just wonder if there's anything I'm missing.

TIA!

My wife attended a conference at Contemporary Resort from 6/21 to 6/28 (actually we didn't get there til 6/22) but the conference rate was $179 per night. We were in the tower on the 8th floor with a nice view of Wishes each night.

Two years ago we booked a standard room at AKL for $109 per night, decided to upgrade to a pool view for $119 and when we got there we were given a savannah view room. So we had three savannah view rooms at the unbelievable price of $119 per night. Previously we had stayed at AKL for $124 for a standard room. This year we are staying at the CR since we have three little ones under the age of 2 l/2 but we are getting the free dining.

Yeah...for our honeymoon, in 2002, we paid $109 for a standard room at AKL, and got upgraded to poolview. Those were the days!

We also took advantage of the Fairytale Package a couple of years after that. I think it was pay for four nights, stay for seven?

I can't remember, but it chaps me to think that now I think $205 is a cheap rate for WL!

We booked the Swan for this summer for $129.00 via an email rate we got in February...Happy with that rate :-)

I'm paying that for POR for Peak Season, but I did score $164 for BWV. I really hope there is some kind of inncentive for next Easter.

A couple of years ago we got a rollover rate from the SOG of $129 for the Contemporary Tower MK view! Fantastic!

DEcember 2001 I paid $199 a night at the Grand Floridian garden view. We checked in on 12/25 too!

Back in 2003 on our honeymoon we paid $109 a nte for WL. We had booked a standard room but were upgraded to a pool/water view instead :cool1: Wish that we could get those rates again. Heck, it's been a while since I got that rate at POR.

We paid $149 a night for a garden wing room at the Comtemporary in mid July of 2001.

I also remember a rate of $130 a night for the Wilderness Lodge the first year it opened.

Ah, those were the days! :cloud9:

During Christmas week 2005, we purchased an AP and were able to get CSR for $88.00 a night....half the usual cost during holiday time!

My best rate so far, IMO is $130 a night at WL for this August. I'm thrilled I got the grand opening rate years later. :)

Wow, edited to add that Cont. Resort is 190 pn from 8/6-8/26 AP rate. I think that's pretty good, but I'm keeping WL.

$49 per night at the All Star.

Oops...who let the "value" guy in?

I am forever thankful that I have a friend who is a CM and willing to do the room discounts for me!

Thanks for all the responses! :)

I'm kind of shell shocked. We went to DW in 2000 and stayed at the GF with a code for $199 a night. It looks like the rooms at the GF START at $400! :scared: :scared1: :faint:

Hopefully there is some kind of discount out there. I like the GF but not for $400 a night.

I KNOW! I am shell shocked at paying $331/night at the Poly in October.
That is with the AAA discount. I know I shouldn't complain because I have a choice to stay somewhere cheaper but I haven't been to WDW with my family since the summer just before 9/11 happened. After that we put large scale vacations on hold. I have always dreamed of staying at the Poly and I vowed that the next time we went back, we would stay there.
