What happens with an add-on after signing papers??

Hi,

We added on over the phone Friday, May 24, and got the papers a few days later and sent them back the next day...

now what? is that it? Do we get a final notice that we're closed or that we can use the points or anything like that?

I'm confused.

Since you purchased through DVC, your points should be available for use within a day or two of talking with your guide. If you tell your guide you want to make a ressie right away, I'm sure they could get the points in your account as soon as you gave them a downpayment.

Yes, you will get a copy of the deed after it is recorded. This usually takes three to four months.

And, Congrats on the add-on!!

So I should be all set pointwise but I won't get anything except the deed and that will take a few months?

beattyfamily, you may get another letter before you get your deed that just says that your deed has been recorded. You are correct, it does seem a tad informal.

When I did my add-ons, I always called MS to make sure my points were in my account and ready to go.

We did the magical beginnings so we won't get our additional points till Dec 2003, although i could borrow them!

We won't take full advantage of them till at least 2005 as I already have this year and next year planned with existing points. But it's great to know i can afford a 2 bedroom now without borrowing and I also can afford more peak times!

Can't wait to start planning 2005 with my new points!

I just Added On in May also and my deed has already been recorded in the Orange County Office, If you would like to see if yours has click on the atthached link, type in your name, and it will list all deeds on file in your name. If there are two and you only added on once then you know your deed has been recorded.
You can also see a copy of the deed if you want to with all the signatures. You probably won't get your copies in the mail for some time but it should put your mind at ease.

I just did it and there are two lines but they both are dated 2/7/01...is that how an add on would look? The same date as the original or is that something else I'm looking at? The book is the same but the pages are different.

When I look on details, one under grantors has "Disney Vac" and under grantees it's our names AND the people we bought the resale from...then when I click on the details of the second one the grantors is the people we bought it from and under grantees it's our names...

I'm a little confused...

It sounds like that is just the original sale, mine have a different date for each closing, so it sounds like your add on has not been recorded yet, mine was about a month from when I sent the papers back.
You'll just have to keep checking back periodically.
