I spoke with our local county court yesterday about the property in our neighborhood.
The foreclosure has been in our court system since 2010. They finally got approval to sell it at a sheriff sale this past January. The house sold but now it has to go back to court to have the sale approved by the court. That has not been scheduled yet. The clerk said that it will probably be at least another month before it gets before a judge. After the judge approves the sale, it will be 4-6 weeks before the people living in the home are evicted. In this case, they will have lived in the house 4 1/2 - 5 years without making a mortgage payment, property tax payment or homeowner's insurance payment. (mortgage comp is paying the taxes and HOI).
