We're planning on going in september...and are planning on going for 9 days. We might, however, depending on the weather and mood of our friends decide to rent a car and drive to miami. What happens to our credits if we book and pay for 9 nights, but check out on the 7th?

Your credits are gone. I would plan on using some for 2 TS places or a TS breakfast and dinner on a single day. You could get some CS sandwiches to take on your drive from EOS etc. You can use them up before you leave but you can't get any credit if you leave early as far as I have read here on the DIS. I don't know what happens to your room costs either. I would call Disney direct and ask. Your best bet is to firm up your plans before whatever your cancellation without penalty would be.

I wonder what would happen if I used 2 TS at a restaurant, basically had no more credits left, but checked out early, will they try to charge me for those credits.

Your plan is paid in full at check in so I would say you will pay for 9 nights of credits whether you check out after 7 days or 9.

They would just be wasted then.

You could always book more ADRs on the days you are sure you'll be at Disney so as not to waste them.

All those credits are yours to use as you choose on whatever days you choose. You can use them on any day you want to so yes, you can use them all up by day 7 and then wouldn't waste any if you leave on day 7 rather than day 9.

You do realize you don't get any kind of refund if you do that, right? Your purchsing a package and if you don't stay to use the whole thing you still have to pay for it. IMHO two days of a package (room, dining, park tickets) is a lot to waste. Why not be certain of your plans before you book?

If you used them and and had no more left then you have used them all up.

It's paid for before you start using them. If you leave and have credits left over, you've wasted/lost them.

You can use every single credit you have on first day, use one per day, use them all the last day or use them anyway you want. Doesn't matter. Disney just averages 1 per night. You choose how you use them.

By the same token, I believe if you check out early, you may only have until midnight of the day you check out to use your credits, rather than being able to do so until midnight of the date of the end of your package as would otherwise have been the case. Since no refund is forthcoming, just in case you want to just not check-out: Go to Miami on the 7th and stop back at WDW for a meal on your way home on the 9th. I don't believe there is any need to you to officially (physically) check-out on the 9th (though that would leave your hotel receipt on the floor of your room.... hmmm... not sure how to work this out...)
